Number Of Ingredients 5

4 cups apple cider or juice
2 cups orange juice
3 tablespoons Red Hots
1-1/2 teaspoons whole allspice
4-1/2 teaspoons honey

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, combine the cider, juice and candies. Place the allspice on a double thickness of cheesecloth; bring up corners of cloth and tie with string to form a bag. Add to pan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer until flavors are blended, 5 minutes. , Discard spice bag; stir in honey. Transfer to a 3-qt. slow cooker; keep warm over low heat.

16 cups (1 gallon) apple cider
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon allspice
Pinch grated nutmeg
2 teaspoons whole cloves
1 orange
Cinnamon sticks, for garnish
2 cups bourbon, optional

Steps:

  • In a large pot over medium heat, add the apple cider. Stir in the brown sugar, allspice and nutmeg until the sugar is dissolved and bring to a low boil.
  • Stick the pointy ends of the cloves into the orange so that just the buds of the cloves are visible. The entire orange should be covered with the cloves.
  • Add the orange to the cider and reduce the heat to simmer. Cover and continue cooking for 20 minutes.
  • Serve in warm mugs with a cinnamon stick garnish. For adults, add bourbon to the cider.

1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon red-hot candies
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon whole cloves
fresh orange slice (optional)
cinnamon stick (optional)

Steps:

  • In a slow cooker, combine the first five ingredients. Place cloves in a double thickness of cheesecloth; bring up corners of cloth and tie with kitchen spring to form a bag. Add bag to slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours or until heated through. Before serving, discarding spice bag and stir cider. Garnish with orange slices and cinnamon sticks if desired.

  • Combine orange juice, apple cider, orange slices, lime slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise in a large saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, about 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Remove cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise. Stir in honey and keep warm.
  • Pour warm cider into cups and garnish with a cinnamon stick for stirring and several orange and lime slices.

If you would like it tarter don't add the honey and if you would like this sweeter than add honey to taste.
