SUNNY'S 5-INGREDIENT CHILI

Steps:
- In a large pot, add the oil, salt, a few grinds of black pepper and the onions. Cook over medium-high heat until tender, about 6 minutes. Add the chili powder and beef and break up into bits, cooking until done, about 10 minutes. Add the tomatoes and beans. Stir and cover to cook for 20 minutes. Serve with a bar of toppings and freshly fried corn tortilla strips to use for utensils.
- Bring at least 2 inches of oil to 350 degrees F in a Dutch oven or other large heavy pot. Add the tortilla strips one by one and fry in small batches until golden and crisp, about 2 minutes. Remove to a paper-towel-lined plate and immediately sprinkle with salt.

- Brown ground beef with chili powder and ground cumin. Drain and set aside. Sauté onions, garlic and jalapeño in vegetable oil about 5 minutes, or until tender. Add ground beef mixture. Stir in tomato sauce, chili beans, water, tomato paste, salsa and chili powder. Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Add beans, beer, olives, cumin, and salt and pepper to taste. Simmer another 15 minutes or until ready to serve.

Steps:
- Saute onion, garlic and gound beef in hot oil until browned, drain well.
- Combine 1/4 cup of boiling water and chili powder, stirring well until dissolved.
- Add tomatoes, salt, oregano, basil and chili powder mixture to meat mixture.
- Cover and simmer about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- Add 3/4 cup of water and beans to meat mixture.
- Simmer 25 to 30 minutes longer.

- In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, bell pepper, and garlic over medium-high heat. Stir until beef crumbles and is no longer pink. Once cooked, drain mixture.
- Place cooked mixture in a 5-quart slow cooker. Stir in beans, diced tomatoes, chili powder, pepper, salt, and ground cumin. Cook at HIGH 3 to 4 hours or at LOW 5 to 6 hours. To thicken consistency, stir in finely crushed saltine crackers until the desired thickness is achieved.
