Making Smoothie Cubes (6 Easy Recipes) image

Time 1h30m

Number Of Ingredients 30

1/2 cup strawberries
1 cup peeled dark pink pitayas (dragonfruits)
1/2 cup dairy-free milk
1 tsp baobab powder
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 cup mango
1 banana (or 2 pears (not peeled), or 1 peeled organic zucchini)
1/2 cup dairy-free milk
1 tsp baobab powder
1 cup blackberries
1 banana (or 2 pears (not peeled), or 1 peeled organic zucchini)
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp acai powder
1 cup dairy-free yogurt
1/2 cup water
3 tbsp coconut butter
1 tsp blue spirulina
2 tbsp maple syrup (or 2 pears (not peeled))
1 cup carrots
1 medium zucchini, peeled and chopped
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup coconut water
1 cup spinach
1/2 cup chopped apple
1/2 cup white grapes
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp lime juice
Covered Ice Cube Tray
High Speed Blender OR a..
Food Processor

Steps:

  • Blend up the ingredients for the flavor of your choices.
  • Each flavor should produce 2 cups of mixture. Add a touch more of the recipe's liquid if you need to to bring the mixture up to 2 cups - it will vary slightly depending on the fruit and veggies size and moisture levels.
  • Pour that flavor into two (1-cup) ice cube trays, either mine or your own choice.
  • Freeze them overnight
  • Store in the freezer for three months.
  • The night before, put 4 cubes in a glass. Refrigerate it overnight.
  • The next morning, add a liquid, stir and drink your grab and go smoothie.
  • Liquids to choose to add:--coconut water will sweeten it, --plain water will dilute it perfectly (remember, the cubes are concentrated)--milk will make it more creamy.
  • Smoothie cubes will retain nutritional value frozen for at least three months.

SMOOTHIE CUBES (MAKE AHEAD SMOOTHIE)

Smoothie Cubes (Make Ahead Smoothie) image

These easy to make smoothie cubes are a great trick to make a quick smoothie ahead. All you have to do is add the cubes to a blender with some liquid, and serve!

Categories     Breakfast or snack

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 cup berries, I use a mixture of blueberries and raspberries
1 banana
1 Medjool date (optional for extra sweetness)
¼ cup (unsalted and unroasted) cashews
1 tbsp ground flax
½ tsp cinnamon
Large handful of greens, I use spinach
a few drops vanilla extract for flavor (optional)
1 ½ scoops (10 gr) Vitals "True Superfood" green powder
a small splash of almond- , oat- or soy milk to get the blender going, not too much (!)

Steps:

  • Place all the ingredients in a (high-speed) blender. Add the green powder last, so it will not stick to the bottom. Blend together until you have a thick soft serve /ice cream like mixture. Be careful with the plant-based milk, don't add too much. If you don't have a blender, you can use a food processor for this recipe.
  • Using a spatula or spoon, scoop out the smoothie mixture and spread it into the ice cube mold. Try to fill the cubes evenly. It helps to gently drop the mold on the kitchen counter so all bubbles and corners of the cubes will be filled.
  • Freeze overnight or for at least 4 hours. Until you are ready to use them.
  • When you are ready to make a smoothie, push the cubes out of the mold into a blender with 1 cup of water. Add more water if you like your smoothie less thick. For a creamier smoothie use a plant-based milk, instead of water. Blend until smooth, and enjoy!

  • First, add all of the smoothie ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend together until a thick paste forms – try not to add any liquid! If you do not have a blender with a tamper, you may want to do this step in a food processor as well.
  • Use a spatula to scoop the Smoothie “paste” into ice cube molds and spread it across the molds evenly to fill them.
  • allow the Superfood Smoothie Cubes to sit at room temperature for 5 minutes to slightly thaw, then add to your blender with 1 1/2 – 2 cups of Filtered Water (depending how thick you like it). Blend until smooth, top as desired, and enjoy!
