1/2 cup heavy cream
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 green apples
Crushed chocolate sandwich cookies, such as Oreos
Chocolate sauce
Chopped salted peanuts
Sea salt
Crushed cereal, such as Fruity Pebbles
Mini white chocolate chips
Broken-up candy bars
Mini candy-coated chocolates, such as M and M's
Brown sugar
Ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Combine the caramels, cream, butter and vanilla in a small slow cooker. Cook on low, stirring every 20 minutes, until the mixture is melted, about 1 hour.
  • Core the apples and slice into eighths. Skewer the ice-pop sticks into the apple slices. Dip the apple slices into the caramel sauce, letting excess drip off, then dip into the toppings of choice.
  • For a cookies and cream flavor, Marcela coats the apples with crushed cookies and chocolate sauce.
  • For a salted caramel apple, Katie sprinkles with chopped salted peanuts and sea salt.

5 cups peeled and diced apples ((about 5 apples))
12.25 oz. jar caramel sauce (I use Smucker's glass jar ice cream topping, regular or salted caramel)
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
pinch nutmeg
pinch salt
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 Tbsp. water
14 oz. pkg. refrigerated pie dough
1/8 cup milk
2 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Steps:

  • Add the apples, caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt into a 3 quart or larger slow cooker. In a small bowl mix together the cornstarch and water, add to the slow cooker.
  • Stir everything until combined.
  • Cover, and cook on HIGH for 2 hours. Stirring once or twice during those 2 hours.
  • In a small bowl, combine the cinnamon and sugar.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Spread out one pie crust at a time onto a baking sheet. Using a pastry brush, spread on the milk. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture onto the pie crusts.
  • Using a pizza cutter or knife cut the pie crusts into serving strips.
  • Spread out the strips on the baking sheet so they don't bake together.
  • Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Repeat with other pie crust.
  • Serve and enjoy.

11.5 oz Salted Caramel Topping
15 small Flour Tortillas (6 1/2")
6 tbsp melted Butter
1/2 cup Sugar

Steps:

  • Place chopped apples into a slow cooker and sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon.
  • Add 1/2 of the caramel topping to the apples and stir to combine.
  • Cover and cook on high for 2 1/2 hours or on low for 5 hours.
  • Add remaining caramel topping and stir until blended.
  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • In a small bowl combine sugar and remaing cinnamon and stir to combine.
  • Spray a baking sheet(s) with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Place tortillas onto the baking sheet.
  • Brush each with melted butter and sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • Cut the tortillas into triangles.
  • Bake for about 8-10 minutes until light, golden brown. Allow to cool.

2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
⅓ cup caramel topping
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 (15.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
1 cup oatmeal
¾ cup butter

Steps:

  • Place caramels and water in your slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on high for 1 to 1 1/2 hours on high, stirring frequently.

  • Dip apple into hot caramel and turn to coat entire surface.

1 cup corn syrup
1 cup peanut butter

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients except apple slices in a saucepan, stir until smooth, and heat until scalding, watching to make sure it does not stick to the bottom of the pan.
  • Transfer dip to slow cooker, if needed, cook on low for 20 minutes.
  • If not transferring, simmer on stovetop for 5-10 minutes.
  • While the dip is warming, slice the apples and place on a serving plate.
  • Serve the dip from the cooker, while turned on low to keep it creamy, or from bowls.
