1 can (15 1/2 ounces) sloppy joe sauce

Steps:

  • Crumble beef into 10-inch skillet. Layer corn, onion and potatoes on beef; add water. Top with sloppy joe sauce.
  • Cover and cook over low heat about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown and potatoes are tender.

1-2/3 cups hot water

1 can (14 oz.) stewed tomatoes, undrained
1/2 cup HEINZ Tomato Ketchup
1/4 cup KRAFT Classic CATALINA Dressing
1 Tbsp. chili powder

Steps:

  • Mix stuffing mix and hot water just until moistened. Meanwhile, brown meat in large skillet; drain.
  • Add next 5 ingredients to skillet. Bring to boil; cover. Simmer on medium-low heat 5 min. or until peppers are crisp-tender.
  • Top with prepared stuffing. Cover; simmer 3 min.

These Sloppy Joes are a hearty, messy, delicious family classic that is ideal for a quick weeknight dinner, ready in less than 30 minutes.

1 pound ground beef
2 tbsp butter
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
8 ounces tomato sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
3 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp prepared mustard
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp white vinegar
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1-2 tbsp Softened butter to toast the hamburger buns

Steps:

  • Brown the ground beef in a large skillet, drain the extra grease and remove the ground beef and set aside.
  • In that same skillet add the 2 tablespoons of butter and melt over medium high heat and add the onions and saute until transparent, about 3 minutes.
  • Stir in all remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 5 to 7 minutes. Watch for bubbling and splattering tomato sauce!
  • Add the ground beef to the sauce in the skillet and stir together and cook until all is reheated.
  • Butter the inside of the buns and toast them on a griddle pan.
  • Spoon the meat mixture on to the prepared buns and enjoy.

I had some leftovers from Recipe#146372 and I didn't want to make anymore Sloppy Joes,so I came up with this. For the pasta I used elbow macaroni,but feel free to use what you have on hand.And for the meat,use what ever you have leftover from any Sloppy Joe recipe.I suggest using the mild Ro-Tel,the original might be to hot for the kiddos :). 1 cup sloppy joe meat
1 cup frozen corn, thawed
10 ounces diced tomatoes and green chilies (I used a regular Sized can of Ro-Tel)
1 1/2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese (divided)

Steps:

  • In a 10 inch non-stick skillet over medium heat add water.
  • When water reaches boiling point add pasta,and cook until desired doneness is reached.(I cook mine al dente').
  • Drain and return to skillet.
  • Add meat,rotel, corn and 1 cup of cheese.
  • Stirring until meat is heated through and cheese is melted.
  • Sprinkle remaining cheese on top and serve.

1 pound ground beef
1 tablespoon butter (unsalted)
½ onion (chopped)
½ green bell pepper (finely chopped)
3 cloves garlic (minced)
½ cup ketchup
1 cup tomato sauce (or tomato passata)
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
¼ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
½ teaspoon pepper (or to taste)

Steps:

  • Brown the beef: Add the butter to a large skillet and melt it over medium-high heat. Once the butter has melted, add the ground beef and cook, stirring often and breaking apart as you go, until the beef is fully cooked.
  • Sauté veg: To the same skillet add the onion and bell pepper. Stir occasionally and cook until the onion is softened and translucent, 3-4 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
  • Simmer: Add the rest of the ingredients to the skillet and stir well to combine. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened and glossy.
  • Finish: Spoon over halved buns and serve.

This is found in my recipe collection under "Mrs. McCann's Barbeque". It was handed down from a neighbor of my great-aunt's sometime in the 1940's. I prefer to use ground round so there isn't so much fat. Gets better the longer it simmers.

1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar

Steps:

  • Cook meat slowly in skillet with salt and onion.
  • Meanwhile, make sauce by mixing together all other ingredients and cooking slowly over low heat for 15 minutes.
  • Drain (not much to drain if you use ground round) and add meat.
  • Let simmer for at least an hour, stirring from time to time, to let meat absorb the sauce.
  • Serve on toasted hamburger buns.
