Time 1h

Yield 12 pieces

Number Of Ingredients 8

12 small Italian sausage links (about 3 inches each)
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 teaspoons chopped fresh rosemary
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 pound refrigerated pizza dough, at room temperature
3/4 cup shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
Warmed marinara sauce, for dipping

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Toss the sausages with 1 tablespoon olive oil on a baking sheet and bake, turning the sausages halfway through, until golden brown and fully cooked, about 35 minutes.
  • Line another baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. Combine the remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil and the rosemary and oregano in a small bowl; set aside. Roll out the pizza dough into a 6-by-12-inch rectangle, then cut the dough crosswise into twelve 1-inch-wide strips.
  • Wrap a strip of dough around each sausage and set on the prepared baking sheet with the ends of the dough on the bottom. Brush with the herb oil and sprinkle with the mozzarella and parmesan. Bake until the dough is golden brown, 12 to 15 minutes. Serve with marinara sauce.

Time 35m

Yield 32 pieces

Number Of Ingredients 10

Nonstick cooking spray, for the baking sheet
One 13.8-ounce tube pizza dough
1 1/4 cups store-bought pizza sauce
8 slices mozzarella, cut into 4 pieces each
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
32 small slices pepperoni
One 12-ounce package mini hot dogs
1 large egg
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
  • Line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Open up the pizza dough and pat out into an even 14-by-10-inch rectangle, with the longest side at the top. Cut into 32 rectangles by cutting 8 vertical strips, then cutting each strip 4 times horizontally.
  • Place a teaspoon of pizza sauce into the center of each rectangle, then top with a piece of mozzarella. Sprinkle on a few crushed red pepper flakes and top each with a slice of pepperoni. Place a hot dog across the shorter side (so it sticks out). Roll up each rectangle, pressing the seam to secure. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining dough and fillings.
  • Beat the egg in a small bowl with 1 tablespoon water and brush over the top of the dough.
  • Mix together the Parmesan and Italian seasoning and sprinkle over the prepared pigs in blankets.
  • Bake until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Serve with the remaining pizza sauce.

Provided by By Betty Crocker Kitchens

Categories     Entree

Time 30m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 large red or green bell pepper, cut in half lengthwise, seeds and membranes removed
1 can (13.8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Classic Crust Pizza Crust
1 teaspoon olive oil
1/2 cup Muir Glen™ organic pizza sauce
1 1/2 cups reduced-fat shredded Italian cheese blend (6 oz)
8 oz lean Italian turkey sausage, casings removed, cooked, drained
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves

Steps:

  • Heat gas or charcoal grill. Cut 18x12-inch sheet of heavy-duty foil; place on large cookie sheet. Spray foil with cooking spray; set aside.
  • Place pepper halves on grill over medium heat. Cover grill; cook 3 to 5 minutes, turning occasionally, until crisp-tender. Remove from grill; cool. Cut into thin slices.
  • Unroll dough on sprayed foil. Starting at center, press out dough to form 13x9-inch rectangle. Brush top of dough with 1 teaspoon oil.
  • Invert foil, placing dough oil side down directly on grill rack; peel off foil and return to cookie sheet, sprayed side up. Cook uncovered 2 to 4 minutes or until bottom of dough is golden brown. (Watch carefully to prevent burning.) With wide metal pancake turner, turn crust over. Cook 1 minute to 1 minute 30 seconds longer or until bottom is set but not brown. Carefully remove crust from grill; place browned side up on foil on cookie sheet.
  • Top crust with pizza sauce, 1 cup of the cheese, the grilled pepper slices and sausage. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup cheese and the oregano.
  • Slide pizza from foil onto grill. Cover grill; cook 3 to 5 minutes or until bottom crust is golden brown and cheese is melted.
