Garlic Shrimp Bacon Alfredo Recipe by Tasty image

Here's what you need: bacon, shrimp, salt, black pepper, medium yellow onion, medium tomato, garlic, heavy cream, fettuccine, grated parmesan cheese, fresh parlsey

Provided by Alvin Zhou

Categories     Dinner

Time 25m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 11

6 slices bacon, chopped
1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ medium yellow onion, diced
1 medium tomato, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups heavy cream
1 lb fettuccine, cooked
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
½ cup fresh parlsey, chopped

Steps:

  • In a large pot, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy.
  • Add the shrimp, salt, and pepper and cook until the shrimp is pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp and bacon from the pot, leaving any fat from cooking the bacon behind.
  • Add the onions, tomatoes, and garlic to the pot and cook until the garlic is starting to brown.
  • Add the cream and bring to a boil.
  • Once the cream is boiling, add the fettuccine. Return the shrimp and bacon to the pan, along with the Parmesan cheese and parsley. Stir until the cheese melts and the sauce coats the shrimp and pasta nicely.

BACON WRAPPED SHRIMP

Bacon Wrapped Shrimp image

Partially cooking the bacon is a key step to these perfectly succulent shrimp wrapped in bacon! A crowd pleasing appetizer recipe that's also great for keto and low carb diets. Note that you'll need toothpicks to secure the bacon strips around the shrimp.

Provided by Marissa Stevens

Categories     Appetizer

Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 5

8 slices bacon (halved crosswise (see recipe note))
16 large shrimp (peeled except for the tail and deveined)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt (or 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt)
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425˚F.
  • Arrange bacon slices, leaving space around each, on oven safe rack placed inside a baking sheet. Bake 5 to 10 minutes depending on the thickness of your bacon. It should still be pliable when you remove it from the oven.
  • Meanwhile, place shrimp in a medium bowl. Add olive oil, salt and pepper; toss to coat.
  • When partially cooked bacon slices are cool enough to handle (about 5 minutes after you remove from oven), wrap each slice of bacon around one raw shrimp, securing with a toothpick; return to oven safe rack. Repeat with remaining shrimp.
  • Bake 10 minutes more until shrimp are pink and bacon is cooked through. Serve.

Time 55m

Yield 16 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 tablespoon olive oil
16 medium shrimp, peeled, deveined and butterflied
8 phyllo pastry sheets, 12x15-inch # 4
4 tablespoons melted butter
6 ounces cream cheese, cut into 16 pieces
8 slices bacon, cooked and chopped small
2 tablespoons chopped chives, plus 16 whole chives for trying purses
kosher salt
ground black pepper
herbs, remoulade (for dipping)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
  • Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium high heat. Season shrimp with salt and pepper, then sauté until pink and cooked through, about 1-2 minutes per side. Drain on a towel-lined plate; set aside.
  • Working with 1 phyllo sheet at a time and keeping the rest covered with a towel until ready to use, lay sheet out on a clean, dry work surface. Brush lightly with melted butter, then use a sharp knife to cut the sheet into quarters. Place one sheet on top of the other, making 2 doubled-up squares.
  • Place a shrimp in the center of each square, top with a piece of cream cheese, then a teaspoon of bacon, 1/2 teaspoon chives, and season with salt and pepper. Pull up the corners, gently twist together, use a chive to tie around purses and place on prepared baking sheet. Brush the purse lightly with butter. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  • Bake purses for 10-12 minutes until golden and crisp.

Categories     Food & Cooking     Ingredients     Meat & Poultry     Pork Recipes

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 1/2 pounds large shrimp, shelled and deveined, tail section left on
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup canned low-sodium or Homemade Chicken Stock, skimmed of fat
1 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 large clove garlic, peeled and sliced thinly
1 1/2 teaspoons finely chopped rosemary
1 1/2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves
1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
4 ounces bacon, cut into 1 1/2-inch dice
Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, toss shrimp, garlic, rosemary, thyme, and oil. Set aside to marinate at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  • Place bacon in a large skillet, and place over medium-high heat. Cook bacon, stirring occasionally, until almost all the fat is rendered, 6 to 7 minutes. Pour off and discard all but about 2 tablespoons of the bacon fat. Add the shrimp, marinade ingredients, and salt and freshly ground pepper to taste; saute, turning frequently, until the shrimp are opaque and just cooked through, about 5 minutes.
  • Remove shrimp and bacon, and transfer to serving dish. Add lemon juice and stock to skillet; cook, stirring up cooked-on brown bits. Cook until liquid is reduced by half, about 2 minutes. Swirl in butter; cook, swirling skillet until butter has melted. Pour the sauce over shrimp, and serve with Lentils with Scallions and Peppers.
