There's no secret to this creamy seafood appetizer-it's simply delicious! I originally tasted it at a friend's house, and I liked it so much that I requested the recipe. It's since become a family favorite. -Brenda Buhler, Abbotsford, British Columbia

1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 cup seafood cocktail sauce
12 ounces frozen cooked salad shrimp, thawed
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 small tomato, chopped
3 green onions with tops, sliced
Assorted crackers

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, sour cream and mayonnaise until smooth. , Spread mixture on a round 12-in. serving platter. Top with seafood sauce. Sprinkle with shrimp, mozzarella, green pepper, tomato and onions. Refrigerate until serving. Serve with crackers.

This quick and delicious appetizer is perfect for all occasions. Creamy, zesty and filled with tasty little shrimp, it's particularly good served with buttery round crackers.

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1 (8 ounce) jar cocktail sauce
2 (6 ounce) containers shrimp, rinsed and drained
2 chopped green onions
1 tomato, chopped
½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce and hot pepper sauce. Spread the mixture on a medium serving platter. Top with cocktail sauce, and layer with shrimp. Cover the shrimp with green onions, tomato and mozzarella cheese.

4 zucchini
1 teaspoon salt
1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
salt & pepper
3 cloves minced garlic
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 chopped parsley

Steps:

  • shred zucchini with manual shredder or in processor, lengthwise.
  • layer in a colander and sprinkle with salt while you prepare the shrimp.
  • rinse zucchini and drain well.
  • in a skillet melt 2 tbsp butter and 1 tbsp oil, add zucchini and cook 3 minutes,add salt& pepper, remove and set aside.
  • melt remaining butter and oil, add shrimp and garlic, cook until shrimp turns pink, 3 minutes.
  • add broth, bring to a boil, add red pepper and parsley, cook 1 minute more.
  • serve shrimp over zucchini.

16 large mushrooms
1 lb small shrimp, deveined and cooked
1/4 cup dry breadcrumbs
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon onion, grated
1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
1/4 cup butter, melted

Steps:

  • Wash mushrooms; chop stems.
  • Set aside 16 shrimp.
  • Chop remaining shrimp.
  • Combine chopped shrimp, chopped mushrooms, crumbs, egg, milk, lemon juice, onion and salt.
  • Spoon into mushroom caps.
  • Top with whole shrimp and brush each appetizer with melted butter.
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes until tender.

1 medium white onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic (medium), finely chopped
2 medium tomatoes, chopped
3/4 pound (14 to 18) medium shrimp, peeled, deveined, and very finely chopped
3 jarred pickled jalapeño peppers (en escabeche), seeded and finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
lime wedges
warmed corn tortilla (6- to 7-inch), or tortilla chips

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a medium skillet and cook the onion until softened, about 3 minutes. Add the garlic and cook 1 minute. Add the tomatoes and cook, stirring frequently, until the juices are reduced and the mixture is nearly dry, 3 to 4 minutes. Add the chopped shrimp, jalapeños, and salt.
