SEAN'S EQUAL PARTS PORK RUB



Sean's Equal Parts Pork Rub image

This is a great rub that I made, and goes great with pork (prefect for pork chops.) This isn't a traditional rub (paste) as the water in the rub helps brine the meat as well, giving you moist juice meat. Be sure to let the rub soak in for at least 3-4 hours, better if left over night.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon garlic salt
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tablespoon water

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a plastic bag (a sandwich bag works great,) work into a paste.
  • Put your meat in the bag and work the rub/paste into the meat.
  • Place into the frig to sit for 3-24 hours.
  • Grill over medium heat (be careful when grilling, as the sugar will burn with time and heat.) I sear both sides without burning the sugar and then finish the grilling over medium to medium low heat.

  • Rub into meat & let stand 20-30 minutes.
  • Cook meat as usual.

PORK CHOP RUB

This is very simple easy, and you most likely will have all these ingredients in your kitchen. It gives a lot of flavor to the chops. The recipe is what you would put on one chop. Its very simple to double (which I do). My husband smelled it cooking, and said it made his mouth water. Be careful not to overcook the chops, as it will make them taste very dry. I left them in the oven (with the oven off) to keep warm, and they still got a little dry.

1 dash onion powder
1 dash garlic powder
1 dash oregano
1 dash dried chives
2 teaspoons vegetable oil or 2 teaspoons olive oil, divided
1 pork chop

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 Sprinkle each ingredient onto the chop.
  • Drizzle 1 tsp of the oil on top of the chop, and rub it in with the back of a spoon or your finger.
  • Turn the chop over, and repeat on the other side.
  • Bake at 350 for 20 minutes (could be more or less- it all depends on the size of your chops).
  • Enjoy!
