THE RAREST YU-GI-OH CARDS AND WHAT THEY’RE WORTH
From thegamer.com
Estimated Reading Time 9 mins
- Crush Card Virus (SJCS-EN004): $115,033. Crush Card Virus is an infamous card, and for a while was one of the hardest cards to obtain. Used by Kaiba in the original anime, only the winners of the 2007 Shoen Jump Championships could use it in real life.
- Dark Magician (DTP1-EN002): $100,000. The utlimate wizard in terms of attack and defense, Dark Magician is one of the most iconic Yu-Gi-Oh! cards of all time.
- Des Volstgalph (SJC-EN002): $95,074. A card used by Yugi once in the anime, Des Volstgalph was the prize card for the second-ever Shoen Jump Championships in 2005.
- Legendary Magician Of Dark (2012-EN002): $75,999. Is it any surprise that the rarest and most valuable Xyz Monster is a Dark Magician card? Legendary Magician Of Dark was a Prize Card during the tenth Yu-Gi-Oh!
- Legendary Dragon Of White (2012-EN001): $72,186. For a while, the Dark Magician counterpart of this prize card was much more valuable. However, in late 2021 the prizes began evening out, with a giant jump in value when it re-appeared on the market for the first time since 2015 (where it was sold for a mere $12).
- Kaiser Eagle, The Heavens' Mandate (2019-EN001): $70,858. Kaiser Eagle, The Heavens' Mandate was the price card for the prize card for the last World Championship in 2019 before in-person events went on hiatus.
- Stardust Divinity (2010-EN001): $64,439. Despite coming out in 2008, the first Synchro Monster Prize Card wouldn't come out until the 2010 Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championships.
- Cyber Dragon (MF-03-EN009): $30,000. Back during the GX Anime, a series of toy tie-ins came with it. These were exclusive to the department store Sears and would come with cards of the toy.
- Grandopolis, The Eternal City (2013-EN001): $24,625. Grandopolis, The Eternal City was the last ever Xyz Monster Prize Card, given during the 2013 Yu-Gi-Oh!
- Goyo Guardian (DTP1-EN030): $13,5000. Goyo Guardian is one of the most iconic Monsters of the Synchro era of Yu-Gi-Oh! It was such a good card, it had to be banned for how easy it was for decks to make.

- Starlight Stardust Dragon. Finally, the biggest chase card of the year was none other than Yusei's iconic Synchro Monster, Stardust Dragon (Starlight Rare)!
- Ghost Rare Dark Magician. The last two cards on the list are purely for collectors, and unlike Pot of Prosperity you probably won't see them in your next Regional Qualifier.
- Starlight Pot of Prosperity. One of the most powerful cards of the year is also one of the most expensive in its Starlight Rare form. Pot of Prosperity (Starlight Rare) a massively flexible card that offers an element of choice in countless strategies, and even if you're not looking for the max rarity version, the thing that keeps many players from running it is the sheer cost: even Pot of Prosperity is a rough $140.
- Starlight Black Rose Dragon. Black Rose Dragon (Starlight Rare) was the retro reprint from , and it looks gorgeous as a Starlight Rare; the white Synchro Monster frame is perfect for the Starlight trappings, and the classic crimson artwork has never looked better.
- Starlight Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon. Narrowly swiping the Number 5 spot from Incredible Ecclesia, the from was another surprise chase card that wasn't advertised for the release, following in the footsteps of Ten Thousand Dragon.
- Starlight Incredible Ecclesia, the Virtuous. Another duel-worthy waifu, Incredible Ecclesia, the Virtuous (Starlight Rare) is a three-of in the format's reigning deck-to-beat, playing a pivotal role in Swordsouls.
- Starlight Lyna the Light Charmer, Lustrous. You just can't underestimate a tournament-playable waifu! Lyna the Light Charmer, Lustrous (Starlight Rare) hasn't seen much play since she was released in , but keying off Light monsters she IS theoretically playable.
- Starlight Elemental HERO Stratos. It was pretty controversial when Konami decided to add a fifth Starlight Rare slot to core sets, reserved for reprints of classic cards; there was lots of debate about whether Effect Veiler (UTR) or [Starlight Effect Veiler (Starlight Rare)] was the "real" max rarity version when it released last year in Eternity Code.
- Ultimate Rare Forbidden Droplet. Most of the cards on this list are Starlight Rares, but a second Ultimate Rare made the cut as well, the max-rarity version of one of the game's most important Spell Cards.
- Pharaoh's Secret Slifer, Ultimate Imperm, & Starlight Live☆Twins. I'm splitting the Number 10 spot four ways, because all of these cards are roughly the same value give or take ten bucks, and any one of the four could probably best the others depending on when you read this.

- Blue Eyes White Dragon 1st Edition PSA 10 (2002) The holy grail of rare Yu-Gi-Oh cards is the Blue Eyes White Dragon, the card everyone wanted as a kid back in 2002, and now nothings changed… everyone still wants it.
- Shonen Jump Championship Cyber-Stein PSA 10 (2004) Imagine Optimus Prime and Frankenstein having a child. Yep, this is what you will get, Cyber-Stein himself.
- Dark Duel Stories Blue-Eyes White Dragon PSA 10 (2002) This may not be “the” Blue Eyes White Dragon which you’ll see further down this list, but it is a very wanted card, and that’s because it was bundled with the game Yu-Gi-Oh!
- Amatsu Okami Of The Divine Peaks (2018) Now this isn’t technically a rare card, or even that expensive but what’s unique about Amatsu Okami Of The Divine Peaks is that nobody knows how many of these are out there.
- Morphing Jar Tournament Pack 2 PSA 10 (2002) You’ll see a theme with these rare Yu-Gi-Oh cards, and that’s most of them being released before 2005, that’s simply due to the high demand and low quality.
- Red Eyes Black Dragon 1st Edition PSA 10 (2002) There was a constant battle between who liked Blue Eyes and who liked Red Eyes when I was at school, and although I was a BLue Eyes kinda guy, this card never got old.
- Exodia The Forbidden One (2002) Remember that epic battle against Seto Kaiba in the first anime episode where Yugi managed to get all the pieces of Exodia and smash Seto into the ground?
