1 egg (beaten)
1 tablespoon sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup ricotta cheese
vegetable oil (for deep frying, since this is a dessert dish avoid using a strong flavored oil like olive oil) or shortening (for deep frying, since this is a dessert dish avoid using a strong flavored oil like olive oil)

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl.
  • Drop by teaspoonfuls into hot oil and deep fry.
  • Balls will turn themselves over when one side is done.
  • Fry until golden brown and cooked through adjust heat as needed if they brown too quickly without cooking through.
  • Drain on paper towels to cool and absorb oil.
  • When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar.

These are soooooo easy and takes a very little time to make.I made these doughnuts and my family enjoyed it a lot.I was not so sure that they will be tasty but when i had a bite i was amazed.HOW TASTY AND DELICIOUS THEY WERE!I still feel the great taste.

1 1/2 cups flour (maida)
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 large egg
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon ghee or 1 tablespoon oil
1/2 cup powdered milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
oil (for deep frying)
1 tablespoon icing sugar
warm water, as needed

Steps:

  • In a bowl beat egg,sugar,vanilla and shortening with the help of an electric beater.If u donot have an electric beater then u may use a whisk or spoon.
  • Now in another bowl take flour and add baking powder,salt,Powder milk.Mix well with the help of ur hands.
  • Add the egg mixture in flour.Knead with the help of ur hands.
  • U will not be able to make a dough, so for kneading dough add a bit of warm water.Keep on adding warm water until u get a dough.The dough should not be very soft or very hard.
  • Make 4-6 small balls out of this dough.
  • Take a ball on ur palm, flatten it a bit , insert ur fingure in the middle and rotate it.Mke a hole in the middle not so big , not so small.
  • Heat oil, and when oil is heated well then fry the Dough nuts (Not all at a time).Fry two or one dough nuts at one time.Be careful about the flame of ur stove it should not be so large.The flame should be medium while frying.
  • When the Dough nuts will become brown in colour, Take in a serving dish and sprinkle some icing sugar on it.Donot spread so much icing sugar that they become white.Just sprinkle a pinch of icing sugar on each doughnut.
  • ENJOY the quick and easy Doughnuts at evening or when u think of eating something really delicious.
  • u may cut with doughnut cutter also.
  • u may also add ur favourite toppings like chocolate.

Vegetable oil, for deep frying
6 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 pound ricotta cheese
2 1/2 cups flour
1 heaping tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • In a deep saucepan, heat enough oil to deep fry (about half-way up the pot) to 350 to 365 degrees F.
  • Mix the ingredients together in a bowl with a wooden spoon in order until the batter is smooth.
  • Using 2 teaspoons, scoop a spoonful of batter then push it off into the hot oil with the other spoon. They will sink then float to the top of the oil. Turn them occasionally to fry evenly on all sides.
  • Drain on paper towels and then dip in powdered sugar or roll at the table in cinnamon sugar. Serve immediately.

Ingredients for Quick Ricotta Doughnuts
One 32 oz container full fat ricotta cheese
1 egg
2 1/4 Cup flour (+ more flour for rolling)
2/3 - 1 cup SPLENDA® Granulated or granulated sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 tsp baking soda
Oil for frying

Steps:

  • Combine 32 ounces of ricotta, 1 egg, 2/3 to 1 cup SPLENDA® Granulated (or sugar) and 2 tsp vanilla extract together with a whisk until smooth and well mixed.
  • Add the 2¼ cups flour and 1 teaspoon of baking soda, then with minimal amount of strokes, using a large fork mix everything together until just combined.
  • Pour about 1 inch of virgin olive oil into a heavy bottomed pot or a dutch oven and heat over medium heat until 360F (insert a heatproof thermometer into the oil, without touching the bottom and check the temperature, or use a thermometer that attaches to the side of the pot).
  • Now working quickly, use a 1 tablespoon ice cream scoop or a regular tablespoon to spoon 1 tablespoon of dough into a flour filled bowl. Roll the ball in the flour, then roll between the palms of your hands into a ball. Transfer to a well floured surface.
  • Once the oil has heated to 360F, drop the rolled doughnut balls into the oil and fry for about 3-4 minutes or until deep golden color. The doughnuts should turn on their own, but if you overcrowd the pot they might need a little help turning. You can tear one doughnut apart to make sure they're cooked all the way inside.
  • Remove the fried doughnuts to a paper towel lined plate. Serve hot with a choice of jam, condensed milk or chocolate ganache.
  • Allow the frying oil to cool, then discard.
