¼ cup butter, divided
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons white sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons butter, softened
¾ cup milk
1 egg
½ cup white sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 cup confectioners' sugar
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
¼ cup butter, softened
½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Brush a 9-inch square baking dish with 2 tablespoons melted butter.
  • Whisk flour, 2 tablespoons white sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl. Work 3 tablespoons softened butter into flour mixture using your hands. Beat milk and egg together in another bowl; pour into flour-butter mixture and stir with a rubber spatula until a soft dough forms.
  • Turn dough out onto a floured work surface and roll dough into a 1/4-inch thick rectangle. Brush surface of dough with 2 tablespoons melted butter.
  • Whisk 1/2 cup white sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon together in a small bowl. Sprinkle 1/2 of the cinnamon sugar mixture in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle remaining cinnamon sugar over butter-brushed dough. Roll dough around filling to form a log; cut log into 18 rolls and place rolls in the prepared baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until rolls are set, 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Beat confectioners' sugar, cream cheese, 1/4 cup softened butter, and vanilla extract together in a bowl until frosting is smooth. Top hot cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting.

1 teaspoon baking soda

GLAZE:
1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
1-1/2 to 2 teaspoons whole milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, combine flour, 1 cup sugar, baking soda and salt. Combine buttermilk, egg and oil; stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. In a small bowl, combine cinnamon and remaining sugar. , Grease the bottom only of a 9x5-in. loaf pan. Pour half the batter into pan; sprinkle with half the cinnamon-sugar. Carefully spread with remaining batter and sprinkle with remaining cinnamon-sugar; cut through batter with a knife to swirl., Bake 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack to cool completely. Combine confectioners' sugar and enough milk to reach desired consistency; drizzle over loaf.

These are so easy to do and you can put the stuff in the machine while you shower and get the kids off to school. Because there is no second rising time after the dough is rolled out they are so quick.

1/4 cup water
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 cup butter
1 egg
0.5 (102 g) box instant vanilla pudding
4 cups flour
1 tablespoon yeast
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
4 ounces cream cheese
1/4 cup butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon milk
1 1/2 cups icing sugar

Steps:

  • Put in breadmaker in order given.
  • Select dough cycle.
  • When cycle is finished put dough on a lightly floured surface.
  • Roll into a rectangle 1/4 inch thick.
  • Spread on 1/2 c soft butter.
  • Sprinkle on a mix of 1 c brown sugar and 2 t cinnamon.
  • Roll tight and cut into 12.
  • Place in a greased 9x13 pan cut side down.
  • Bake 350' 15-20 minutes.
  • Remove from oven, let stand 10 minutes and frost with cream cheese icing.
  • I do this right in the pan so that it is easy to take it with me.

¼ cup granulated sugar, divided
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
⅛ teaspoon plus 1 teaspoon salt, divided
8 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted, divided
3 cups all-purpose flour, spooned into measuring cup and leveled off with knife, plus more for dusting work surface
1¼ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
1¼ cups low fat buttermilk
1½ tablespoons cream cheese, at room temperature
2 tablespoons buttermilk
¾ cup confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • Adjust oven rack to middle position and preheat oven to 425°F. Line a 9-inch square cake pan with aluminum foil and brush with one tablespoon butter.
  • Combine the brown sugar, 3 tablespoons granulated sugar, cinnamon, cloves and ⅛ teaspoon salt in a small bowl. Add one tablespoon of the melted butter and stir with a fork or fingers until the mixture resembles wet sand. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining tablespoon granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda and 1 teaspoon salt. Add the buttermilk and 3 tablespoons of the melted butter buttermilk to the dry ingredients and stir with a wooden spoon until the liquid is absorbed; the dough will be sticky and shaggy. Brush the dough with 1 tablespoon of the melted butter. Sprinkle the dough evenly with the brown sugar filling, leaving a ½-inch border. Using your hand, press the filling firmly into the dough. Starting at the long side, roll the dough, pressing lightly, to form a tight log. (If the dough sticks to the surface, use a sharp knife or dough scraper to release it.) Pinch the seam to seal. Roll the log seam-side down and, using a sharp knife, cut it evenly into 9 pieces. Turn the pieces over on their flat sides, and slightly flatten each piece with your hand to seal the open edges and keep the filling in place. Place the rolls in the prepared pan and brush with the remaining butter. Bake until the edges are golden brown, 23 to 25 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, make the glaze. In a medium bowl, whisk together the cream cheese and buttermilk until thick and smooth (the mixture will look like cottage cheese at first). Add the confectioners' sugar and whisk until smooth glaze forms.
  • When the buns are done, use the foil overhang to lift them out of the baking pan and onto a wire rack. Let cool for 5 minutes, then carefully separate the buns, using a knife if necessary. If you find the buns are sticking a bit to the foil, transfer them to a wire rack. Drizzle the glaze evenly over the buns. The buns are best served warm; leftovers may be stored in an airtight container at room temperature.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease 1½ pound loaf pan. Set aside.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine sugar, flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Beat in egg, milk and oil until just moist.
  • In a small bowl, combine cinnamon and sugar.

1/3 cup raisins (optional)
2 tablespoons butter
2/3 cup brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
pinch ground cardamom
1 cup powdered sugar
1-2 tablespoons milk or cream

Steps:

  • Lightly grease an 8×8-inch square baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar and salt. Dissolve the yeast in a measuring cup filled with the warmed milk, then stir milk mixture, vegetable oil, vanilla extract and egg into the flour mixture.
  • Mix well, until very smooth. Stir in raisins, if using. Pour into prepared pan and let rest for 15 minutes.
  • While the dough rests, mix together butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and cardamom in a food processor until the mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle evenly on top of rested dough and press the mixture down into the dough with your fingertips (or swirl in with a spatula.)

1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup butter (room temperature)
1 (18 ounce) box package yellow cake mix
3 eggs
1/3 cup oil
1 cup sour cream
3 tablespoons brown sugar

1 cup cake batter
2 (12 ounce) cans cream cheese frosting

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease WELL 2 9" round cake pans.
  • For Brown Sugar Layer combine ingredients and spread into each pan to within 2 inches of the edge.
  • Combine all the ingredients for the cake and mix on medium speed until fluffy, approximately 2 minutes. Pour one cup batter into separate bowl and divide remaining batter into the pans.
  • For Brown Sugar Swirls combine the reserved batter with cinnamon and brown sugar. Drop by tablespoons onto the batter in the pans. Swirl, being careful not to stir up the brown sugar layer.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes then remove and cool on racks.
  • Place one cake sugar side up on plate and frost the center. Top with remaining cake, sugar side down and frost the rest of the cake.

Nothing beats an easy cinnamon rolls recipe! This is so simple and makes perfectly delightful cinnamon rolls time after time!

1 cup warm water
1 Tbs yeast
1 egg
½ Tbs salt
½ cup sugar
1 Tbs lemon juice
3 tbs olive oil
4 cups flour
½ cup butter (softened)
1 ½ cup brown sugar
2 ½ Tbs cinnamon
1 8oz pkg cream cheese
½ cup butter
3-4 cups powdered sugar (depending on how thick you like frosting)
1 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
3-4 tbs milk (depending on how thick you like frosting)

Steps:

  • Microwave the water for 1 minute, then add the yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes
  • In a stand mixer, add the egg, salt, sugar, oil, lemon juice, and sugar and mix so it is combined. Then add the yeast/water mixture
  • Add the flour, and with the dough attachment, mix the ingredients.
  • Knead until it is a sticky dough, though it should not stick to the sides. Knead in the mixer for 4-5 minutes. Then knead with your hands for 2-3 minutes.
  • Let the dough rise for an hour
  • Shape the dough into a rectangle, and spread the butter, then add the brown sugar & cinnamon. Carefully use a rolling pin and roll over the sugar & cinnamon mixture so it is packed down on the dough.
  • Roll the dough, starting at the long end, then cut into 1 inch sections and place into baking dish
  • Let the dough rise again for 3-6 hours (for super fluffy rolls, use the whole 6 hours)
  • Bake for 350 for 15-17 minutes.
  • For the frosting, whip all the ingredients together, using 3-4 cups of powdered sugar depending on how think you like your frosting!

2 cups flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup dark raisin
2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup plain fat-free yogurt
1/4 cup canola oil
2 teaspoons margarine, melted
1/4 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
4 tablespoons walnuts, finely chopped
1 teaspoon cinnamon (a little more if you wish)

Steps:

  • Spray a 9 inch baking pan and preheat oven to 425°F.
  • In a small bowl mix the filling ingredients together, mixing well.
  • In large bowl combine the sugar, raisins, flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
  • Add yogurt and oil, mix well together until you have formed a dough.
  • On a lightly floured surface knead the dough 8-10 times.
  • Roll the dough out to a 8" x 10" rectangle.
