Easy, cheesy and comforting! This easy Philly spaghetti is ready in the time that it takes to cook the pasta, and comes with a silky smooth sauce thanks to a simple pasta sauce hack that every Italian knows!

80 g pasta (Any long pasta - spaghetti or tagliatelle. Adjust quantities to your preference.)
1 tsp olive oil
15 g butter
100 g cream cheese
20 g grated parmesan (1/3 cup)
1 tsp salt
salt and pepper to season.

Steps:

  • Heat the olive oil and butter in a large frying pan on the stove over a medium heat.
  • Boil a kettle full of water for the pasta. Pour into a large saucepan, season with a teaspoon of salt, and add the pasta. Cook according to packet instruction until al dente.
  • Chop or crush the garlic clove, and cook in the oil and butter until fragrant. You don't want it to start turning brown. Add the cream cheese and stir in until melted.
  • When the pasta is nearly cooked, scoop out at least half a cup of pasta water and reserve.
  • Add about a third of a cup of pasta water to the cream cheese and stir in. Keep the sauce at a simmer.
  • When the pasta is cooked, drain well - give it a good shake - and add it to the cream cheese sauce. Add half the grated cheese, and season generously with salt and pepper. Stir together well, to coat the pasta in the sauce.
  • If needed, add more pasta water to the sauce. The sauce will thicken as it cools, so make it slightly runnier than you think it needs to be.
  • Serve, sprinkling with the rest of the grated parmesan. Eat immediately.

16 ounces dry spaghetti
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 to 3 cloves garlic, (minced)
8 ounces cream cheese, (room temperature, cut into cubes)
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
⅔ cup cooking water, (plus more if needed)
salt and fresh ground pepper, (to taste)
cracked black pepper, red pepper flakes, and/or chopped fresh parsley, (for garnish, optional)

Steps:

  • Cook spaghetti according to the directions on the package. Do not drain it yet.
  • In the meantime, heat olive oil in a large skillet set over medium heat.
  • Add garlic to the oil and cook for 30 seconds, or until fragrant. Do not burn the garlic.
  • Increase heat to medium-high; add cream cheese to the skillet and ⅔ cup of the cooking pasta water.
  • Whisk the cream cheese and water until well combined.
  • Whisk in the parmesan cheese; taste for salt and pepper and adjust accordingly. If needed, add more water to reach desired sauce consistency.
  • Drain the spaghetti and return the spaghetti back to the cooking pot.
  • Add the cream cheese sauce to the spaghetti; stir until combined.
  • Garnish with a crack of black pepper , red pepper flakes, and/or chopped parsley.
  • Serve and enjoy!

1 pound lean ground beef
1 (28 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 pinch garlic salt
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti in the boiling water, stirring occasionally, until tender yet firm to the bite, about 12 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir ground beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain fat and stir in spaghetti sauce.
  • Drain spaghetti and place in a bowl. Add cream cheese, garlic, Italian seasoning, and garlic salt. Stir until cream cheese is melted and spaghetti is thoroughly coated. Spread a small amount of meat sauce in the bottom of the prepared baking pan; put spaghetti on top and top with remaining meat sauce. Sprinkle Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses on top.

It almost has the flavors of lasagna without the work. The sauce and meat mixture layered beneath and on top of the noodles mingles with the noodles in the baking process. All of the fresh veggies give the sauce so much flavor. Carrots almost add a subtle sweetness. The cheese mixture on top is the perfect gooey topping. 6 ounces spaghetti (about 1/2 package)
1 lb ground beef, browned and drained
26 ounces tomato sauce, of your preference (1 jar)
1/2 small onion, finely chopped
1/2 tablespoon minced garlic (I use the one you get at the store on a jar)
1 tablespoon milk, of your preference (I use skim milk)
salt
4 ounces cream cheese
1/4 cup Velveeta cheese, chopped in small cubes (1/3 cup if you're a real cheese lover)
parmesan cheese (optional)

Steps:

  • Cook spaghetti as directed on package and put aside.
  • Brown ground beef and drain excess fat.
  • Mix together ground beef, onions and garlic on medium heat; let it cook until onions are tender.
  • Add tomato sauce, milk and salt; let it cook for about 5-10 minutes.
  • Turn the heat off and add the cream cheese; mix until cream cheese is completely melted.
  • Pre-heat oven 350°F.
  • Cover the bottom of a 9x13 glass pan with the tomato sauce (do not use too much -- just enough so that the spaghetti won't stick to the pan).
  • Add spaghetti and cover it with remaining sauce (do not stir now).
  • Sprinkle velveta cheese on top.
  • Cover pan with aluminum foil and bake for about 5 minutes.
  • Remove aluminum foil and bake for another 5 minutes.
  • Remove pan from the oven and stir gently so that sauce and cheese will be incorporated to the rest of spaghetti
  • Enjoy with some Parmesan cheese on top!
