QUICK BARBECUE BEEF BAKE

- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and onion and cook, stirring frequently, until the beef is no longer pink. Drain off any excess grease. Stir in the barbecue sauce and mix well. Transfer the mixture to a 13x9 baking dish. Evenly sprinkle the cheese over the top. In a bowl, whisk together the baking mix, milk, and eggs until well blended. Pour over the beef mixture. Place the baking dish in the oven and bake at 400 degrees F for 25 minutes or until the crust is lightly browned. Remove from the oven and let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

- Heat oven to 400°F. Grease bottom and side of 9-inch pie plate with shortening. In 10-inch skillet, cook beef, bell pepper and onion over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain. Stir in 1/3 cup barbecue sauce. Spread in pie plate. Sprinkle with 3/4 cup of the cheese.
- In medium bowl, stir Bisquick mix, milk and eggs until blended. Pour over beef mixture.
- Bake uncovered 25 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining 3/4 cup cheese. Bake about 5 minutes longer or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Serve with additional barbecue sauce.

- Heat oven to 350°F. Spray rectangular baking dish, 11x7x1 1/2 inches, with cooking spray.
- Make potatoes as directed on pouch, using water, milk and butter. Spread half of the potatoes over bottom of baking dish. Layer with beef, 1 cup of the cheese and remaining potatoes.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake about 30 minutes or until hot. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup cheese. Sprinkle onions around edges of baking dish. Bake uncovered 3 to 4 minutes longer or until cheese is melted and onions are brown.

- In a large bowl, combine ketchup, brown sugar, red wine vinegar, Dijon-style mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and liquid smoke. Stir in salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Place chuck roast in a slow cooker. Pour ketchup mixture over chuck roast. Cover, and cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours.

- Rub the beef with half the lard and all the red chile. Place meat in a large bowl.
- In a medium saucepan, bring 1/2 cup water to a boil, add the remaining lard and the butter. When melted, remove from heat. Add vinegar, tarragon, wine, onion, Worcestershire sauce, and minced garlic. Pour over meat. Refrigerate, uncovered, for up to 2 days; turn the meat frequently.
- Preheat broiler.
