PORK LOIN ROAST ON A TRAEGER GRILL

Pork Loin Roast On a Traeger Grill image

Grilling a pork loin roast on a Traeger is absolutely ideal, as the thick cut of meat (don't confuse with pork tenderloin!) requires a great deal of temperature consistency to deliver a mouthwatering and juicy end result.

Provided by cavetools

Categories     Main Course

Number Of Ingredients 9

3 Pound Pork Loin Roast
1 Large Diced Vidalia Onion
3 Minced Garlic Cloves
1- 12 Ounce Bottle of Premium German Lager
1 Teaspoon Caraway Seeds
1/3 Cup Organic Single-Source Locally Harvested Bees Honey
2 Tablespoons Dijon Mustard
1 Teaspoon Dried Thyme
3 Tablespoons Dry Seasoned Pork Rub

Steps:

  • Place your pork loin roast, diced Vidalia onion, and minced garlic cloves into a large sealable Ziploc bag.
  • Take out a large mixing bowl and add into it the premium German lager, organic single-source locally harvested bees honey, Dijon mustard, caraway seeds, and dried thyme.
  • Mix these ingredients together thoroughly with a metal whisk until a smooth and even marinade forms.
  • Once you are done, pour all of the marinade liquid into the Ziploc bag containing the pork loin roast.
  • Allow the pork to marinate overnight or for at least 8 hours.
  • Take the pork out of the Ziploc bag along with the onions and garlic.
  • Rub the meat down thoroughly with the dry seasoned pork rub so that the entire surface area is covered.
  • Place the seasoned pork, onions, and garlic into a large roasting pan.
  • Pour all of the marinade into a saucepan and bring these ingredients to a boil over a medium heat setting.
  • Reduce the marinade liquid by approximately half.
  • Fire up your Traeger grill on a smoke setting.
  • Be sure that the grill lid stays open until your fire is going.
  • Set the temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius.
  • Let the grill preheat for 10-15 minutes.
  • Slide your roasting pan on to your Traeger grill grate.
  • Allow the meat to roast uncovered, with the fat side pointed up.
  • Cook the meat for one hour.
  • Once the hour has elapsed, carefully pour the reduced marinade over the top of the pork loin.
  • Allow the meat to cook for another 30 minutes to an hour, occasionally basting the meat with the marinade.
  • Once your pork has attained an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit or 75 degrees Celsius you can remove it from the grill.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check it out.
  • You can begin cutting the pork loin after it has cooled for approximately 10 minutes.
  • Garnish the meat with any liquids or juices still in the roasting pan.

SMOKED PORK LOIN RECIPE

Smoked Pork Loin Recipe image

The pork loin portion is a mildly flavored, fairly lean, and softly textured cut of the pig. It deserves to be smoked. Preparing a smoked pork loin isn't tricky. You just need to decide whether you want to end up with thin, moist slices or pulled pork style meat.

Provided by cavetools

Categories     Main Course

4 to 6 pound whole boneless pork loin
2 to 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1/4 cup coarse sea salt
1/4 cup turbinado or brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon Chinese five spice powder or ground cinnamon

  • Close the top of the grill and set the temperature to 225˚F.
  • Preheat the grill for approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

SMOKED PORK LOIN

Smoked Pork Loin image

This Smoked Pork Loin is the perfect roast to make for the entire family or when a group of friends come over for a backyard BBQ. It's juicy, easy to make, and only requires a few ingredients. So fire up that smoker, grab some of my Sweet Rub, and let's get cooking!

Provided by Susie Bulloch (heygrillhey.com)

Categories     Main Dish

Time 2h35m

Number Of Ingredients 3

4-5 pound pork loin roast
1 Tablespoon olive oil
2-3 Tablespoons Hey Grill Hey Signature Sweet Rub

Steps:

  • Preheat your smoker to 225 degrees F.
  • Pat the pork loin roast dry with a paper towel. Trim any excess fat on the top that is over 1/4 inch thick. Use a really sharp knife to score through the fat cap - cut down about 1/4 of an inch in a diagonal pattern.
  • Drizzle the pork loin on all sides with olive oil, and rub with your hands to ensure it's evenly coated. Sprinkle on all sides with Hey Grill Hey Sweet Rub. You can be a bit aggressive with the sweet rub, so ensure it is nice and coated.
  • Place the pork loin directly on the grill grates of your smoker. Close the lid and smoke for 2 to 2 1/2 hours. It can take up to 3 hours to fully cook this pork depending on the thickness of the meat. Cook the pork until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees F.
  • Remove the roast from the smoker. Tent with foil. Allow to rest for 10-15 minutes, then slice against the grain and serve.

EASY SMOKED PORK LOIN : 12 STEPS - INSTRUCTABLES

From instructables.com
  • Choose a Boneless Pork Loin. A word of caution: A pork loin is not the same as a pork tenderloin! Pork loin is basically the equivalent of unsliced pork chops, and it is much larger and cheaper than pork tenderloin.
  • Choose Your Wood and Preheat Your Smoker to 225°F. Fruity woods such as apple or cherry are great for smoking pork to give it a bit of a sweet flavor.
  • Place Your Pork Loin on the Cutting Board Fat-side Up, and Cut Several 1/4 Inch Deep Cuts Into the Meat. These cuts will help your rub penetrate such a thick piece of meat, making for a more flavorful pork loin!
  • Drizzle Some Mustard on Your Pork Loin and Rub It In. Make sure to get the mustard down into the grooves you cut. The mustard acts as a binder for your rub!
  • Take Your Favorite Rub, and Apply Liberally to the Mustard-covered Pork. Make sure to get the rub down into the grooves to lock in that flavor! RUB SOME BUTT is one of my personal favorites!
  • Flip Your Pork Loin Over and Repeat Steps 4 & 5. There won't be any cuts on this side, but that's okay! Now you're ready to start smoking it!
  • Place Your Pork Loin on the Smoker Fat Side Up, and Insert Your Meat Thermometer. Placing the pork loin fat-side up will allow the fatty juices to remain in the cuts you made, as well as run down the sides of the pork loin instead of dripping directly into the smoker!
  • Allow the Pork Loin to Reach an Internal Temperature of 145°F. This step, depending on the size of your pork loin, will take anywhere from 1-4 hours.
