4 servings apple cider vinegar
2 servings kraft bbq sauce
1 lb boneless country-style ribs

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 °F (200 °C).
  • Cut ribs in half, making pork fingers.
  • Place pork fingers in an oven proof dish and bake in oven for 20 minutes.
  • Mix together thoroughly BBQ sauce and vinegar.
  • Coat ribs with sauce and continue to bake for 10 more minutes.

Baked Pork Fingers with a Honey Mustard Sauce image

These are similar to your basic chicken fingers, but made with pork, and a few other ingredients. They are quick and easy to assemble, and taste so yummy. So, you ready... Let's get into the kitchen.

PLAN/PURCHASE
THE DIPPING SAUCE
2 Tbsp fresh clover honey
2 Tbsp dijon mustard, i like grey poupon
1 tsp tamari sauce
THE PORK FINGERS
1/2 lb thin sliced pork tenderloin, cut into strips
1/2 c buttermilk
1 c panko breadcrumbs
2 Tbsp parmesan cheese, grated
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp salt, kosher variety
black pepper, freshly ground, to taste

Steps:

  • 1. PREP/PREPARE
  • 2. THE DIPPING SAUCE
  • 3. Gather your ingredients.
  • 4. Combine all the ingredients into a small bowl and reserve.
  • 5. THE PORK FINGERS
  • 6. Gather your ingredients.
  • 7. Place a rack in the middle position, and preheat the oven to 400f (205c).
  • 8. Add the pork strips to the buttermilk, and allow them to rest for 10 minutes.
  • 9. Add the panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, oregano, salt, and pepper to a dish.
  • 10. Remove a pork strip from the buttermilk, and then dreg in the breadcrumb mixture.
  • 11. Add to a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • 12. Repeat for the remainder of the pork strips.
  • 13. Place in the oven, and bake for 20 - 24 minutes.
  • 14. Chef's Note: If you are not using a raised wire rack to cook the pork fingers, then flip them over halfway through the cooking process.
  • 15. PLATE/PRESENT
  • 16. Serve with the dipping sauce, while still nice and warm. Enjoy.
  • 17. Keep the faith, and keep cooking.

This recipe came from my aunt who is an awesome cook, just like my mom. It's a great way to prepare a cheaper cut of meat and still have something that's tasty and tender. My aunt's note on this is: "I dice my onion, tomato and bell pepper and use as much as I want. I also divide the sauce mixture evenly between the 4 steaks." Either way, it's delicious!

1/4 cup catsup
4 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon vinegar
4 pork steaks, 1/2-inch thick
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
garlic powder, to taste (optional)
1 medium onion, sliced
1 large tomatoes, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced

Steps:

  • Mix first 4 ingredients together.
  • Season the pork steaks with the salt, pepper and garlic powder. Spread each lightly with the sauce mixture.
  • Place in baking dish and top each pork steak with a slice of onion, tomato and green pepper.
  • Seal well in aluminum foil, leaving room for expansion of steam. Bake 1 hour at 350°F.
  • Transfer to serving platter and serve hot.

" COUNTRY FRIED " PIG FINGERS



You see chicken fingers and cow (steak :)) fingers, so I thought why not pig (pork) fingers? I changed my fried pork chop recipe and came up with this. Feel free to sprinkle more pepper and seasoning salt before frying. This is really easier than it looks. If you want to use these as an appetizer, cut the 12 pieces in half to make 24. 4 boneless pork chops, 1/2 inch thick with all visible fat removed
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/3 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons seasoning salt
3/4 cup self-rising flour
1/8-1/4 teaspoon cajun seasoning (optional)
1/4-1/3 cup canola oil
1/4 cup flour
1 -1 1/4 cup milk
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Cut each chop into three strips lengthwise.
  • With textured end of meat mallet, pound each strip ¼-inch thick.
  • Mix milk and egg well; set aside.
  • Mix together flour, pepper, seasoning salt, and Cajun seasoning if desired.
  • Coat each strip in flour mixture.
  • Then flatten each piece with palm of hand.
  • Dip each strip into egg mixture.
  • Coat again with flour mixture.
  • Sit strips on aluminum foil to let "dry" for 10 minutes.
  • Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat until hot but not smoking.
  • Add strips six at a time.
  • Fry until golden brown; turn and repeat.
  • Repeat step 12, until all strips are cooked.
  • Drain on paper towels.
  • Serve with white gravy.

  • Dispose of oil except for 4 tablespoons.
  • Add 1/4 cup flour.
  • Whisk until paste is formed.
  • Add 1 to 1 1/4 cup milk; stir until desired thickness is reached (gravy will thicken as it stands).
  • Salt and pepper to taste.
