i have never tried this recipe but my friend cooked it one night for her family and it looked and smelled so good i can not wait to try it

1 can(s) pineapple, crushed
6 c thinly sliced cabbage
1 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp honey mustard
salad dressing
1/8 tsp white pepper

Steps:

  • 1. drain pineapple, reserving 1 tablespoon juice, set aside. in a large skillet, saute cabbage in oil for 5 -8 minutes, or until crisp tender. add the salad dressing, pepper and reserved pineapple and juice. cook for 1 minute or until heated through

1 small head white cabbage, including outer green leaves (2 1/2 pounds)
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Cut the cabbage in half and, with the cut-side down, slice it as thinly as possible around the core, as though you were making coleslaw. Discard the core.
  • Melt the butter in a large saute pan or heavy-bottomed pot over medium-high heat. Add the cabbage, salt, and pepper and saute for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and begins to brown. Season, to taste, and serve warm.

oil (for frying)
12 ounces peeled fresh pineapple, cored and cut into chuncks
1 onion, chopped into wedges
3 -4 teaspoons fresh rosemary or 3 -4 teaspoons thyme, chopped
2 tablespoons roasted peanuts
1 teaspoon honey (only necessary if the pineapple is too tart)
12 ounces green cabbage, chopped
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Heat about a tablespoon of oil in a large skillet. Add the pineapple chunks to the hot oil, stirring so they don't burn ( you do want the pineapple to brown slightly).
  • Add the onion, herbs and peanuts and fry for 2 more minutes. Taste the pineapple and add the honey if you need to at this time.
  • Toss in the cabbage and sprinkle on a little salt and pepper. Stir for about 4-6 minutes until the cabbage is linghtly cooked. Then serve with rice.
