Number Of Ingredients 7

Ingredients

1 cup sugar
1 cup vodka
1/4 cup dry vermouth
1/4 cup fresh lime juice (from 3 large limes)
Two 8-ounce ripe pears, such as Comice, peeled, stemmed, cored and cut into 1-inch pieces
Ice
1/2 unpeeled pear, cored and cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices, for garnish

Steps:

In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and 1/2 cup water over medium heat. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved, about 5 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and allow the syrup to cool, about 15 minutes.
In a blender, puree the syrup, vodka, vermouth, lime juice and pears until smooth. For each drink, pour some of the pear mixture into an ice-filled cocktail shaker and shake well. Pour into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with pear slices and serve.

Steps:

Place all ingredients in a martini shaker.
Shake.
Strain into a chilled martini glass.
Garnish with sliced pears.

2 1/2 tablespoons light syrup, from canned pears
1/2 ounce simple syrup
1/2 lime, juice of
2 1/2 ounces vodka
pear, slice (garnish) (optional)

Steps:

muddle the pear, pear syrup and simple syrup in cocktail shaker.
Add other ingredients and shake with ice.
Strain into cocktail glass.
Thinly slice the pear, and hang on martini glass.

2 large mint sprigs
1 ounce pear nectar or 1 ounce juice
1 1/2 ounces spiced rum
3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
3/4 ounce simple syrup
1 pinch of freshly grated nutmeg
1 slice pear, for garnish (optional)

Steps:

Quickly muddle mint in the bottom of a cocktail shaker.
Fill shaker with ice and add pear nectar, rum, lime juice, Simple Syrup and nutmeg.
Vigorously shake and strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with pear slice.
