MOM'S PEACH CRISP

My mom and I would often make this yummy and easy peach crisp using her home-canned peaches when I was little.

4 cups sliced fresh peaches
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup cold butter
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup rolled oats

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Arrange peaches evenly in an 8x8-inch baking dish.
  • Mix flour, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl using a pastry cutter until evenly crumbled. Fold oats into flour mixture; sprinkle and press topping into peaches.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until topping is lightly browned, about 30 minutes.

This is an easy dessert I made for myself because my husband does not like dessert. It's even better with vanilla ice cream.

1 (15 ounce) can sliced peaches
1 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/3 cup flour
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup oats
2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine

Steps:

  • Mix all filling ingredients together and put in small casserole dish.
  • For topping, mix flour, brown sugar and oats together and spoon evenly on top of filling.
  • Lay thin slices of butter on top of topping mixture.
  • Bake 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
FILLING:
2 cans (15-1/4 ounces each) sliced peaches
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
TOPPING:
1-1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
5 tablespoons cold butter, cubed

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Pat into a greased 9-in. square baking pan. Bake until lightly browned, about 15 minutes. , Meanwhile, drain the peaches and reserve juice in a small saucepan. Stir in the sugar and cornstarch until smooth. Bring to a boil; cook and stir until thickened, 1-2 minutes. Remove from the heat; stir in peaches. , Pour over crust. For topping, combine oats, brown sugar and flour. Cut in the butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over filling. Bake until golden brown and bubbly, 25-30 minutes.

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ cups white sugar
1 pinch salt
1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 cup butter, chilled

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Layer the peaches in a 9x13 inch baking pan. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt and cinnamon. Slice the butter into chunks and mix it into the dry ingredients until it looks like pea size crumbs. Sprinkle crumbs over peaches.
  • Bake for 30 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven, until lightly golden.

2 tablespoons quick-cooking oats
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons chopped almonds
5 teaspoons cold butter
1/4 teaspoon almond extract

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine peaches and sugar. Transfer to two greased 6-oz. baking dishes. In a small bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar and almonds. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle with almond extract; toss. Sprinkle over peaches. , Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 30 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.

2 medium peaches, peeled and sliced
1/2 c flour
1/2 c brown sugar
1/4 c butter
1 tsp lemon juice

Steps:

  • 1. Spray small baking dish with Pam. Put peaches in baking dish and sprinkle with lemon juice.
  • 2. Mix flour and brown sugar. Cut in butter with fork until mixture is crumbly.
  • 3. Press mixture on top of peaches
  • 4. Bake at 350º for about 10 or until peaches are tender. Let cool slightly. Delicious topped with ice cream.
