"STRING PIE"



A fast and easy pasta dish that makes a great dinner with a loaf of garlic bread and a green salad. Sometimes I do use some italian sausage along with the ground beef for more flavor.

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
1 -2 garlic clove, minced
crushed red pepper flakes, to your taste (op.)
15 1/2 ounces spaghetti sauce
8 ounces spaghetti, cooked
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
2 eggs, beaten
2 tablespoons butter, melted
8 ounces cottage cheese
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • Cook beef, onion, green pepper and garlic in a large skillet until browned.
  • Drain; stir in red pepper flakes (op.) and spaghetti sauce and set aside.
  • In a large bow, mix spaghetti, Parmesan cheese, eggs and butter. Spread in a greased casserole dish; spread cottage cheese over the top. Pour sauce mixture over cottage cheese; and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.

I bought the cookbook that this recipe was in because of this recipe. It is a cross between spaghetti and lasagna and you don't have the mountain of left overs, like with lasagna. It's fast and easy and wonderful with garlic bread and a salad.

1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
1 (15 1/2 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce, use as much as you like
8 ounces spaghetti, cooked and drained
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
2 eggs, beaten
2 teaspoons butter
1 cup cottage cheese, you use low-fat cottage cheese
1 ounce shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Cook beef, onion and green pepper in large skillet over medium heat until the meat is browned.
  • Drain fat.
  • Stir in spaghetti sauce.
  • Combine spaghetti, Parmesan cheese, eggs, and butter in large bowl; mix well.
  • Place in bottom of 13x9 inch baking pan.
  • Spread cottage cheese over top; cover with sauce mixture.
  • Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake until mixture is thoroughly heated and cheese is melted, about 20 minutes.
  • *Chef'snote: I layered everything, so it looks nice.

1 pound ground beef
½ cup diced onion
¼ cup diced green bell pepper
1 (15.5 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
1 (8 ounce) package spaghetti
2 eggs, beaten
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 (8 ounce) container ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until crumbly and no longer pink, about 10 minutes. Drain and set aside in a bowl. Cook and stir onion and green bell pepper in the same skillet until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir onion, green pepper, and spaghetti sauce into ground beef.
  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti in the boiling water, stirring occasionally until cooked through but firm to the bite, about 10 minutes. Drain and transfer to a bowl. Let pasta cool slightly and stir beaten eggs and Parmesan cheese into spaghetti.
  • Spread spaghetti mixture into a 9x13-inch baking dish. Spread ricotta cheese over pasta mixture in an even layer; top with ground beef mixture. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the casserole.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the casserole is set in the center and the cheese topping is melted and lightly browned, about 35 minutes.

1 graham cracker crust or chocolate crust
1 Tub 8oz cool whip
2 SM Box pudding, pistachio
1 (20 oz) can crushed pineapple in its own juice (drained)
2nd tub of cool whip and nuts (optional topping)

Steps:

  • 1. Mix the Following; cool whip, dry Pudding Powdered mix and drained Pineapple, Mix all together, & Blend Well.
  • 2. Pile High into Crust. Chill, Optional; Top with More Cool Whip if Desired. Sprinkle with Nuts over toping Now Enjoy!
