This ranch snack mix is one of my favorite snack recipes that I love making for family get-togethers.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 275 degrees F (135 degrees C).
- Combine cereal, pretzels, cheese-flavored crackers, oyster crackers, and peanuts in a large bowl.
- Whisk vegetable oil, ranch dressing mix, and garlic powder together in a small bowl. Pour over cereal mixture and stir until coated. Arrange on a large baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven, stirring gently halfway through, until toasted and fragrant, 15 to 20 minutes.

This is my mom's no-bake snack mix recipe, and it's so much better than the normal snack mix recipes out there. It's tangy, spicy, and insanely addicting! I make it for my coworkers for Christmas and always get requests for the recipe. What's nice about it is you can vary the proportion of snacks that are in...more oyster crackers, less pretzels, etc. For reference, it makes probably 2 plastic gallon bags' worth of mix. This also freezes well to stay fresh longer.

- Whisk oil, seasoning blend, dill, and cayenne together in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on medium (50%) power for 3 minutes; this helps the oil to become a little thinner and easier to cover snack mix. Whisk in ranch mix until blended.
- Place cheese puffs, savory snack mix, pretzels, and oyster crackers into a large container or a large paper bag. Pour oil mixture in a little at a time, stirring to evenly distribute.

- Begin by preheating your oven to 325 degrees F.
- To an extra-large bowl add the sweet potato chips, Cheez-Its, bagel chips, pretzels, and mixed nuts. Toss gently to combine.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, ranch seasoning mix, and cayenne*. Slowly drizzle this onto the snack mix. Stir during the drizzling process to ensure everything is evenly coated.
- Sprinkle with a bit of the parmesan and then stir. Add more parmesan and stir again. Continue until everything is nicely coated.
- Spread out the mix onto a large baking sheet pan. Bake for 15-20 minutes while stirring at least 1-2 times during the baking process.
- Allow the mix to cool, then store in an airtight container for up to 7 days.

RANCH SNACK MIX
Capturing the creamy tang of ranch in a dry snack mix can be elusive, but it is possible. Adding vinegar to the melted butter that coats the ingredients in this recipe, and hitting it with buttermilk powder both before and after baking infuses everything with both of those flavor notes.

- Preheat the oven to 250˚ F. Combine the buttermilk, onion and garlic powders, dill, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and 1 teaspoon pepper in a small bowl and whisk to combine.
- Combine the cereal, crackers, chips, almonds and sesame sticks in a large bowl and toss.
- Melt the butter in a medium skillet over medium-low heat. Remove from the heat and stir in the vinegar. Pour about half of the butter mixture over the cereal mixture and toss, then pour in the remaining butter mixture and toss again until everything is well coated and there is no butter at the bottom of the bowl. Add half of the spice mix and toss to coat.
- Spread the cereal mixture on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake, stirring occasionally, until dry, crisp and lightly toasted but not browned, 50 to 60 minutes. Remove from the oven and toss with the pretzels and remaining spice mix. Set aside to cool, stirring occasionally.

NO-BAKE-JUST-SHAKE CRACKER MIX
From Southern Lady Magazine Sept/Oct 2005. I edited to change the amount of garlic powder. The original recipe calls for 1 tsp. but my family has found we like it better with just 1/2 tsp. Just a matter of taste!
