Open, sesame! This is a family favorite. For a variation, you can also use bone-in chicken pieces, but be sure to increase the cooking time in this case. Tip: To toast sesame seeds, place in a baking dish in a heated oven for about 5 to 10 minutes, watching carefully not to burn.

2 tablespoons soy sauce
¼ cup toasted sesame seeds
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon salt
1 pinch ground black pepper
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
2 tablespoons butter, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Place soy sauce in a 9x13 inch baking dish. On a piece of wax paper, mix together the sesame seeds, flour, salt and pepper. Dip the chicken pieces in the soy sauce to coat, then dredge in the sesame seed mixture. Arrange in baking dish in a single layer, then drizzle with melted butter.
  • Bake at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for approximately 40 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and tender and juices run clear. Baste with drippings once during cooking time. Garnish with extra sesame seeds if desired, and serve.

½ cup soy sauce
½ cup dry sherry
2 tablespoons minced garlic
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
cooking spray
1 cup wheat germ
½ cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
¼ cup sesame seeds
¼ cup dried parsley
¾ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika

Steps:

  • Whisk together the soy sauce, sherry, garlic, brown sugar, and ginger in a bowl; pour into a large resealable plastic bag. Add the chicken pieces, coat with the marinade, squeeze out excess air, and seal the bag. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  • Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a baking rack with cooking spray, and place on a baking sheet.
  • Remove the chicken from the marinade, and shake off excess. Discard the remaining marinade.
  • Mix the wheat germ, bread crumbs, sesame seeds, parsley, black pepper, and paprika together in a separate large resealable plastic bag. Add the chicken to the bag and shake to coat the pieces with the bread crumb mixture; transfer the coated chicken pieces to the prepared baking rack.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until no longer pink at the bone and the juices run clear, about 1 hour. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of of a thigh, not touching bone, should read at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).

4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
1 cup buttermilk
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 garlic clove, minced
1 cup dry bread crumbs

Steps:

  • Place chicken in a large resealable plastic bag; add buttermilk. Seal bag and refrigerate for at least 4 hours. This sesame chicken recipe is as crispy as the takeout version, but it's oven-fried instead of deep-fried and our homemade sesame chicken sauce is tastier!

1 pound boneless chicken thighs ((450g, cut into chunks))
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon sesame paste
¼ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Shaoxing wine
1/4 cup all purpose flour ((32g))
2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
1/8 teaspoon fresh ground white pepper
2 teaspoons canola oil
1 clove garlic ((minced))
1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
3/4 cup chicken stock ((180 ml))
1/2 teaspoon rice wine vinegar
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
2 teaspoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons cornstarch ((mixed into a slurry with 2 tablespoons water))
1 scallion ((sliced into 1/2 inch pieces))

Steps:

  • Mix the chicken with the cornstarch, sesame paste, salt, and Shaoxing wine and set aside for 20 minutes. Then mix the flour, sesame seeds, and white pepper in a separate bowl. Preheat the oven to 475 degrees.
  • Use your hands to mix the chicken and marinade until there is no standing liquid. Dredge the chicken pieces in the dry mixture, and place them on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper or nonstick foil. Bake at 475 degrees for 8 minutes on the top rack. Flip the chicken pieces and broil on low for 3 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven.
  • Heat your wok to medium heat and add oil and garlic. Stir for 5 seconds, and then add the Shaoxing wine. After another 5 seconds, immediately add the chicken stock, rice wine vinegar, sugar, soy sauces, and sesame oil until everything's at a simmer.
  • Gradually add the cornstarch slurry to the sauce while stirring constantly. Let simmer for 20 seconds. The sauce should be thick enough to coat a spoon. Add the chicken and scallions and toss until coated with sauce. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and serve.

1 lb. chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 cup all purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten
2 cups Panko breadcrumbs
cooking oil spray
2 cups broccoli florets
2 cups cauliflower florets
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons liquid honey
1 tablespoon black vinegar
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1/2 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon fresh garlic, minced
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1 teaspoon green onions, finely sliced

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350F.
  • Pat dry chicken breasts completely with a paper towel and cut into 1-inch cubes. Place into a medium mixing bowl and season with salt and pepper. Set aside for at least 10 minutes.
  • In a large ziploc bag, add flour and cubed chicken. Seal the bag and shake well to coat.
  • Prepare a shallow plate with the Panko breadcrumbs and another with the beaten eggs. Dip one piece of chicken at a time into the egg wash and evenly coat it, then evenly coat in the breadcrumbs. The flour will stick to the chicken, the egg wash sticks to the flour, and the breadcrumbs will stick to the egg wash.
  • Arrange the breaded chicken on a large half sheet baking pan lined with parchment paper. Spray the chicken with cooking oil spray. This helps create a crispy crust on the outside during baking.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add broccoli, cauliflower, olive oil, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat. Spread the vegetable mix in a single layer on one half of the same baking pan.
  • Bake the chicken with vegetables for 25 to 30 minutes until chicken is fully cooked. The internal temperature for the chicken should be 165F. Set the pan aside.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, add soy sauce, honey, vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar and cornstarch. Stir well to mix until cornstarch and sugar dissolves.
  • In a large wok or skillet, heat oil over medium heat for 2 minutes. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Turn down to low heat and stir in sauce mixture. Stir well until it thickens, about 2-3 minutes. Keep heat on low heat while stirring.
  • Add the cooked chicken and vegetables to the sauce pan. Toss to coat with the sauce. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
  • Serve over a bowl of steamed rice.

2 chicken breasts (cut into big chunks)
4 tbsp soy sauce
4 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
4 tbsp honey
4 cloves garlic (peeled and finely diced)
4 tbsp water
4 tsp toasted sesame seeds
2 green shallots (chopped, to serve)

Steps:

  • Place the chicken into a dish and add the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic and water.
  • Allow to marinate for at least 45 minutes.
  • Heat your oven to 190C and line a tray with baking paper.
  • Place the marinated chicken onto the lined trays and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and brush the chicken all over with half of the honey.
  • Bake for a further 15 minutes (or until golden and cooked through) and then baste again with the honey. Return to the oven if it is not yet cooked through.
  • Sprinkle the cooked chicken with the toasted sesame seeds and shallots and then serve.

1/2 c freshly grated parmesan cheese
1/3 c sesame seeds
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp each salt and pepper

3 lb chicken wings
1/2 c butter, melted

Steps:

  • 1. Separate wings into 3 if desired...discard tips. Combine all ingredients except butter. Dip wings in melted butter ; roll in bread crumb mixture. Coat completely. Arrange meaty side down on a a well greased cookie sheet in a single layer. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes, turn and bake 20 - 25 minutes or until golden.
  • 2. Serve with tomato salsa or sour cream. I really like the 3 cheese Ranch dressing with ALL my wings!!! NOTE: You can substitute 1/2 cup of buttermilk for the butter for fewer calories

Melt butter in a large oven-proof skillet over medium high heat. Add chicken, skin-side down, and sear both sides until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Stir in honey mixture.
