- Cut a Strip From the Piece of Paper. Measure about 1/2" across from the edge at both the top and bottom of the paper. Fold the paper across to score it, or draw down the piece of paper with a ruler to ensure you have marked a straight edge.
- Step 2: Fold the Strip Into a Pentagon. Fold the top two corners into a point. Fold the strip of paper up and slightly to the left, lining up the right edge of the strip with the point at the top.
- Push the Pentagon Into a Star. Tuck the remaining bit of the strip under one of the previous folds to hide it away. Pinch two adjacent sides so that they push in and the pentagon bows out on either side.
