This is an all-around homemade dip. Best in stir-fry beef, pork, chicken (especially Buffalo wings), even chips and steamed veggies. The whole family, even friends love this. Best served chilled. You can substitute 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic for onion, or you can mix both!

¼ cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 ½ teaspoons water, or more as needed
1 tablespoon minced onion

Steps:

  • Stir the mayonnaise, white vinegar, soy sauce, and water together in a bowl just until combined. Add more water as desired for thinner consistency. Stir in minced onion.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until cold.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 small onion, quartered
8 ounces cream cheese, quartered
1/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 dash pepper
chips

Steps:

  • In bowl of food processor add onion. Pulse on/off 4 or 5 times to chop onion finely.
  • Add cream cheese, milk, salt and pepper. Turn Food Processor ON and process until smooth, about 10 seconds.
  • Serve with chips.
  • Bacon-Horseradish Dip: Substitute 4 strips of crisp bacon for the onion. Follow above mixing procedure adding 2 teaspoons horseradish with milk. Makes 1 cup.
  • Clam Dip: Follow above mixing procedure, omitting milk and salt. After dip has formed, set speed control to LO. Add 8 ounce can minced clams, drained. Process until blended. Makes 1 1/4 cups.

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 cups diced onions
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1 1/2 cups sour cream
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Steps:

  • In a saute pan over medium heat add oil, heat and add onions and salt. Cook the onions until they are caramelized, about 20 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool. Mix the rest of the ingredients, and then add the cooled onions. Refrigerate and stir again before serving.

Just like the creamy party dip I grew up eating, but no powder packed with weird ingredients required. Be careful, you may eat an entire bag of chips with this dip!   • Add olive oil and diced shallots to a medium sized skillet over low heat, stir to coat. Add salt, pepper, and thyme. Cook over medium-low heat for 20 minutes, stirring every few minutes until the shallots are soft, but not crisped.
  • While the shallots are caramelizing, mix the sour cream and mayonnaise together or measure the Greek yogurt and set aside.
  • Remove the shallots from the heat and let cool for five minutes. Add the shallots to the sour cream mixture or yogurt, add chopped parsley, and stir well. Garnish with more parsley and freshly ground pepper. Serve with veggies or chips.
