Once you try this homemade taco seasoning blend, you'll never want to use store-bought again. This DIY Taco seasoning is so versatile for tacos, taco soup, and taco salad, as a seasoning for veggies, you name it! This recipe makes 3 Tbsp of seasoning.

1 Tbsp chili powder
2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp paprika (preferably smoked paprika)
1 tsp fine sea salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp dried oregano
Pinch red pepper flakes (optional)

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, add all of the taco seasoning ingredients. Stir to combine and store homemade taco seasoning in an airtight container for up to 6 months.

I love Ortega Taco sauce but it's hrs to find in my neck of the woods. This sauce is every bit as good if not better.

1 (680 ml) can Hunts tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
3 tablespoons white vinegar
1 tablespoon cumin
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons onion powder
2 teaspoons lemon pepper
1 teaspoon white sugar
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon cayenne

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients and put in a mason jar.
  • Best if made in advance so the flavors have time to meld.
  • Keep in the refrigerator for up to a month.

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper (fresh ground)
1 pinch salt

Steps:

  • Mix all together.
  • Spread on both sides of bread before adding your meat and veggies.

Yield 3 1/2 cups

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
3 cups water
2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
2 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons cornstarch
2 teaspoons white vinegar
1 tablespoon minced dried onion
2 tablespoons canned jalapeno slices

Steps:

  • Combine the tomato paste with the water in a large stainless or enamel saucepan over medium heat.
  • Stir until smooth.
  • Add the cayenne, chili powder, salt, cornstarch, and vinegar.
  • In a food processor puree the onion and jalapeno until smooth.
  • Add to tomato water mixture and bring to a boil, stirring often.
  • Once you have reached the hard boil stage cook for 3 minutes, then remove from heat.
  • Let stand to cool.
  • Place in a tightly sealed container and place in the fridge.
  • This will keep up to 2 months.
  • If you wish to can this product you pour the hot liquid into clean, sterile hot half pint jars and process in a boiling water bath for 20 minutes.

1/3 cup water
4 teaspoons white vinegar
2 teaspoons dried minced onion
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon ground cumin
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
3/4 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan. Heat over medium-low heat; simmer, uncovered, until thickened slightly, 5-7 minutes. Cool slightly. Transfer to an airtight container, refrigerate up to 3 days.
