Low Fat Chocolate Minute Mousse image

A very low-fat easy dessert that take minutes to make, you could also make this with the full-fat version, experiment with different flavored puddings! The Splenda is optional add in if you prefer a sweeter dessert.

1 (3 ounce) package jello fat-free chocolate instant pudding mix
1 1/2 cups skim milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups Cool Whip Lite, thawed
splenda artificial sweetener
chocolate shavings

Steps:

  • In a bowl whisk together instant pudding mix with the skim milk and vanilla for about 1-1/2 minutes.
  • Stir in Cool Whip until combined.
  • Divide into 4 dessert cups/dishes.
  • Sprinkle with semi-sweet chocolate shavings.
  • Chill until ready to serve.

1 1/2 cups HEAVY whipping cream
1/4 cup cocoa powder (dutch preferred), sifted, use 1/3 cup for DARK chocolate flavor
1/2 cup powdered sugar, use 1/4 cup for DARK chocolate flavor
1/4 teaspoon almond extract, optional

Steps:

  • In a chilled mixing bowl, begin whipping cream. Whip until frothy and slightly thicken.
  • Add powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Carefully mix until soft peaks form.
  • Add almond extract if desired. Whip until stiff peaks form.
  • Spoon into plastic bag or piping bag with piping tip. Pip into serving bowls or glasses.
  • Enjoy immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

2 c heavy cream
2/3 c powdered sugar
3-4 Tbsp cocoa (more cocoa for a richer dark chocolate flavor)
1/3 c hot fudge topping, not heated (like Smucker's)
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Toppings: Whipped cream, chocolate syrup, maraschino cherries, Pirouline wafers

Steps:

  • 1. Add the ingredients to a large bowl. Hot fudge topping should come straight from the jar; do not heat first.
  • 2. With a hand mixer beat ingredients, on medium speed, for 30 seconds until well combined. Scrape down the sides with a spatula.
  • 3. Beat on high for 15 to 20 seconds more or until stiff peaks form.
  • 4. Lightly fold the mousse to check the consistency.
  • 5. If the consistency is fine, it's ready to serve. If a thicker consistency is preferred, beat the mousse on high for about 10 to 15 seconds more. Make sure to not over beat or the mousse will break down.
  • 6. Spoon the chocolate mousse into dessert glasses.
  • 7. Top with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, a maraschino cherry and/or a Pirouline wafer.

1 pkg cool-whip topping, (8 oz / 226 g)
2 1/4 c cold milk
1 graham cracker pie crust
cool-whip topping for topping if desired

  • 1. Whisk together the pudding mix and milk in a large mixing bowl.
  • 2. Add the whipped topping to the mixing bowl, the entire 8 oz container of whipped topping will be used.
  • 3. Fold the the whipped topping into the pudding.
  • 4. Fold until evenly mixed.
  • 5. Pour the mixture into pie crust. Place in the fridge until chilled and set.
