HOT FUDGE PUDDING CAKE II
Magically making its own fudge sauce this cake will become one of your favorite last-minute desserts. Serve it with ice cream for an extra special treat. Note: if you use a dutch process cocoa you will have a richer, darker result. TIP: some reviewers have recommended "baking" this in a crockpot on High for about 2 1/2 hours and then letting it cool slightly before serving. Thanks for the tip!

HOT FUDGE PUDDING CAKE (MICROWAVE)
I grew up with a dessert called Hot Fudge Pudding Cake. It was a package mix. This is the closest to the original recipe I've had. Similar to other brownie cakes listed but less ingredients and microwave cooked. One of my all time favorites.

MOTHER'S FUDGE
Steps:
- Butter an 8 x 8-inch pan. Combine sugar, butter, milk, salt, and chocolate in medium saucepan. Stirring constantly, cook over medium heat until all ingredients melt and come to a boil. Do not scrape down the sides of the pan. Lower heat, insert candy thermometer, and let boil slowly without stirring for about 10 minutes or until soft ball forms when dropped in a cup of cold water (238 degrees F on a candy thermometer). Remove pan from heat and cool. Add vanilla. Beat steadily until fudge loses its gloss. Add nuts. Pour into pan. Cool for 20 minutes and cut into squares. Store in airtight container or wrap in tinfoil.
MOM'S HOT FUDGE PUDDING CAKE
My mom always made this recipe because she kept the ingredients on hand. I have tried some other recipes but they aren't usually as fluffy and as good as my mom's! This is a chocolate cake on top with chocolate pudding on the bottom. It's REALLY easy and the pudding is created while you bake!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°F Spray a 9x9 baking pan with non stick spray.
- Mix together all the dry ingredients in a large bowl. This is so they are well mixed before adding in the wet ingredients.
- Add in the wet ingredients, stirring as you do so.
- Spread in the baking pan.
- Blend together the ingredients to put on top (the cocoa and brown sugar). Try to blend as well as possible as the brown sugar kind of sticks together. Sprinkle this evenly over the batter in the pan.
- Pour 1 3/4 cup HOT WATER on top of this. This will look really liquidy but it works out!
- Bake for 45 minutes.
- Serve warm. Keep leftovers in the fridge.

Steps:
- Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees. Also prep an 8x8 baking pan by greasing it with cooking spray or oil.
- In a large bowl whisk together all the dry ingredients.
- In another bowl whisk together the wet ingredients.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until they are combined into a nice thick batter.
- Pour that batter into your prepared 8x8 pan. Spread it so that it covers the bottom of the pan.
- In another bowl mix together the topping ingredients. This will look like chocolate water, don't worry that is what it is supposed to look like!
- Gently pour the hot chocolate liquid over the batter in the 8x8 pan.
- Carefully place it in the 350 degree preheated oven for 35 minutes.
- Remove it from the oven. The cake should have risen to the top and the fudge sauce is bubbling underneath.
- Let it cool for about 10 minutes and then serve warm!
- Serve with a dollop of whipped cream, vanilla ice cream or coffee ice cream!

MOM'S HOT FUDGE SAUCE
I like this recipe the best because of its smoothness and I think the confectionery sugar makes it sweet but not too sweet

HOT FUDGE PUDDING CAKE
Mother would make this rich, fudgy dessert more than any other because it was my father's favorite. My husband, two children and I also love to eat the cake warm with ice cream. I work at our local post office and like helping at our kids' school.
