HOT FUDGE PUDDING CAKE II

Hot Fudge Pudding Cake II image

Magically making its own fudge sauce this cake will become one of your favorite last-minute desserts. Serve it with ice cream for an extra special treat. Note: if you use a dutch process cocoa you will have a richer, darker result. TIP: some reviewers have recommended "baking" this in a crockpot on High for about 2 1/2 hours and then letting it cool slightly before serving. Thanks for the tip!

HOT FUDGE PUDDING CAKE (MICROWAVE)

Hot Fudge Pudding Cake (Microwave) image

I grew up with a dessert called Hot Fudge Pudding Cake. It was a package mix. This is the closest to the original recipe I've had. Similar to other brownie cakes listed but less ingredients and microwave cooked. One of my all time favorites.

Time 1h30m

Yield 24 pieces

Number Of Ingredients 7

3 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 cup whole milk
Dash of salt
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Steps:

  • Butter an 8 x 8-inch pan. Combine sugar, butter, milk, salt, and chocolate in medium saucepan. Stirring constantly, cook over medium heat until all ingredients melt and come to a boil. Do not scrape down the sides of the pan. Lower heat, insert candy thermometer, and let boil slowly without stirring for about 10 minutes or until soft ball forms when dropped in a cup of cold water (238 degrees F on a candy thermometer). Remove pan from heat and cool. Add vanilla. Beat steadily until fudge loses its gloss. Add nuts. Pour into pan. Cool for 20 minutes and cut into squares. Store in airtight container or wrap in tinfoil.

MOM'S HOT FUDGE PUDDING CAKE

Mom's Hot Fudge Pudding Cake image

My mom always made this recipe because she kept the ingredients on hand. I have tried some other recipes but they aren't usually as fluffy and as good as my mom's! This is a chocolate cake on top with chocolate pudding on the bottom. It's REALLY easy and the pudding is created while you bake!

Time 1h

Yield 1 cake, 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons cooking oil
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 egg
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup cocoa

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F Spray a 9x9 baking pan with non stick spray.
  • Mix together all the dry ingredients in a large bowl. This is so they are well mixed before adding in the wet ingredients.
  • Add in the wet ingredients, stirring as you do so.
  • Spread in the baking pan.
  • Blend together the ingredients to put on top (the cocoa and brown sugar). Try to blend as well as possible as the brown sugar kind of sticks together. Sprinkle this evenly over the batter in the pan.
  • Pour 1 3/4 cup HOT WATER on top of this. This will look really liquidy but it works out!
  • Bake for 45 minutes.
  • Serve warm. Keep leftovers in the fridge.

HOT FUDGE PUDDING CAKE

Hot Fudge Pudding Cake image

A decadent dessert that has a brownie like cake on top and the most delicious fudge sauce on the bottom... they bake together in the oven!!!

Provided by Susie Weinrich

Categories     Dessert

Time 1h

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 cup all purpose flour
1/4 tsp kosher salt
2 tsp baking powder
3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 cup white granulated sugar
1/2 cup milk
4 tbsp butter (melted )
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar (lightly packed )
4 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/4 cup boiling water

Steps:

  • Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees. Also prep an 8x8 baking pan by greasing it with cooking spray or oil.
  • In a large bowl whisk together all the dry ingredients.
  • In another bowl whisk together the wet ingredients.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until they are combined into a nice thick batter.
  • Pour that batter into your prepared 8x8 pan. Spread it so that it covers the bottom of the pan.
  • In another bowl mix together the topping ingredients. This will look like chocolate water, don't worry that is what it is supposed to look like!
  • Gently pour the hot chocolate liquid over the batter in the 8x8 pan.
  • Carefully place it in the 350 degree preheated oven for 35 minutes.
  • Remove it from the oven. The cake should have risen to the top and the fudge sauce is bubbling underneath.
  • Let it cool for about 10 minutes and then serve warm!
  • Serve with a dollop of whipped cream, vanilla ice cream or coffee ice cream!

MOM'S HOT FUDGE SAUCE

Mom's Hot Fudge Sauce image

I like this recipe the best because of its smoothness and I think the confectionery sugar makes it sweet but not too sweet

Provided by Pumpkie

Categories     Sauces

Time 25m

Yield 10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 cup butter
4 ounces baking chocolate
1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
1 (16 ounce) box confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • Melt chocolate and butter over low heat.
  • Remove from heat and add alternately sugar and milk. It will be lumpy they will dissolve over heat.
  • Return to heat put on medium and bring to a simmer, reduce to low heat for 10 minutes.
  • Stirring constantly I use a whisk. The sauce should be thicker if not cook additional time, you can also add more sugar but I prefer to just cook it longer.
  • Will keep in refrigerator for a couple of weeks.
  • Enjoy.
