Make a matcha latte as an alternative to your regular hot drink. You can use the milk of your choice including dairy-free varieties like coconut milk

1 tsp maple syrup or honey
250ml milk of your choice, dairy-free works well, as does coconut milk

Steps:

  • Put the matcha and sweetener into a mug, pour in 1 tbsp boiling water and stir to a thick paste.
  • Heat the milk until steaming, then if you can, froth until foamy with a whisk or milk frother. Pour into the matcha for your very own, café style latte.

Steps:

  • Add milk to aeroccino and start it heating.
  • Immediately sprinkle 1 teaspoon of matcha powder on top of the milk.
  • Wait until the aeroccino stops.
  • Serve. Add honey if desired.

  • Once the matcha is completely dissolved, heat* your coconut and macadamia milk (or other dairy-free milks). I added mine to a frothing pitcher and steamed on our espresso machine, but you could also heat in the microwave or on the stovetop until hot and steamy. To get more froth, you can whisk vigorously or use a handheld frother.
  • Pour dairy-free milk into your mug - latte art optional (mine was a little sad - lol). Taste and add more sweetener if needed. I found that, when I used the macadamia nut milk, I only needed a bit of maple syrup or stevia to sweeten. Enjoy immediately.

  • When milk is just coming to a simmer, use a hand-held frother or blender to thicken and get a nice froth going. Slowly pour your milk over the matcha to combine and make your latte.
