Maraschino Cherry Cake With A Cherry On Top Food

MARASCHINO CHERRY CAKE WITH A CHERRY ON TOP

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 295 F/145 C. To make the cake batter, place flour, baking powder, sugar, honey, and eggs in the bowl of a stand mixer and mix well. Slowly drizzle in grapeseed oil mixed with salt until emulsified. Add chopped almonds, pitted and drained maraschino cherries (without cherry syrup) and slightly combine to keep whole cherries. Pour the batter into a buttered and floured cake pan 7 inches/18 cm in diameter and bake for 40 minutes. Remove the cake from the pan, flip upside down, and let cool.
• , crush yogurt covered almonds in a food processor. Cover the cake all over with the heated apricot jam. Generously sprinkle with chopped yogurt covered almonds. Dust top of the cake with powdered (icing) sugar and arrange maraschino cherries with stems.

• Drain cherries & dry thoroughly.
• Sift flour, baking powder.
• Coat cherries with a little of this dry mixture.
• Beat butter& sugar together until light& fluffy.
• Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition.
• add flavouring.
• Stir in remaining flour mixture alternately with milk.
• When smoothly blended add the cherries stirring them in.
• scrape into a well greased tube pan.
• Bake about 2 hours or until cake is set.
• Test with toothpick.
• cool before removing from pan.

MARASCHINO CHERRY CAKE

Steps:

• cream butter and sugar -- add eggs, mix well.
• add dry ingredients, alternately with milk --
• fold in flavorings -- nuts and cherries, which have been slightly chopped, drained.(be sure to reserve the juice) --
• pour into 13x9 baking pan which has been greased and floured --
• bake at 350* for 55 minutes.
• mix reserved cherry juice and enough powdered sugar to make a drizzling glaze.
• drizzle over the top of cooled cake.
• garnish with cherries and walnuts, if desired -- .

CHOCOLATE MARASCHINO CHERRY CAKE

Steps:

• Grease and flour pans (9x13 or 2 8" round pans).
• Sift flour and soda.
• cream butter and sugar.
• add egg, melted chocolate nuts and cherries and juice to creamed mixture.
• add dry ingredients and buttermilk alternately.
• Pour into pans
• Bake in a 350 oven for 30 minutes.
• Cool.
• Frost with Ganache.

MARASCHINO CHERRY CAKE

Steps:

• Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour one 13 x 9 1/2 inch pan.
• Sift dry ingredients together.
• Add shortning, cherry juice, cherries and milk. Beat 2 minutes medium speed.
• Add egg whites. Beat 2 more minutes.
• Fold in nuts. Pour into pans.
• Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until golden.
