MAPLE PECAN APPLE CRISP RECIPE
Maple Pecan Apple Crisp made with oats, pecans, brown sugar, butter and apples in a perfect Fall dish bursting with fresh apple flavor! Topped with real maple syrup, this apple crisp recipe is our all-time favorite!

- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Spray a baking dish with non-stick spray.
- Wash, peel and slice apples into wedges. I used my apple slicer to cut them into 10 wedges, then I cut each of those in half. Add apples to baking dish.
- Combine 2 TBSP brown sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon. Pour in apple juice and maple extract. Stir, then pour over apples and toss gently to coat.
- To make the topping, combine flour, 2 TBSP brown sugar, butter and salt. Mix until butter resembles the size of peas. Stir in oats and pecans. Sprinkle mixture over apples.
- Bake for 40 minutes. Remove from oven and cover with foil, then bake an additional 10 minutes.
- Remove foil. Drizzle apple crisp with 2-3 TBSP maple syrup. Serve topped with vanilla ice cream and additional maple syrup.

- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the apples and raisins with 3 tablesppons of brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg and salt. Spoon into a buttered 9-inch pie plate.
- In another mixing bowl, combine the remaining brown sugar and spices, and the flour; give a couple good stirs with a wooden spoon.
- Cut in the butter with two knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs; stir in cereal. Sprinkle over the apple mixture.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until topping starts to brown and apples are tender.
- Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
- Cook's Tip: For a special treat, sprinkle some shredded cheddar cheese on top of the crumble topping the last 10 minutes of baking. Yummm!

- For the Filling: Mix all the ingredients together. Place into 7 to 8-ounce ramekins.
- For the Topping: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Mix the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt in large bowl. Blend the butter into the mixture until it forms pea size lumps. Stir in pecans and sprinkle over filling.
- Bake crisps for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool 10 minutes before serving.

- Preheat oven to 350.
- To make the filling--In a 9-inch pie pan that's 2 inches deep (or a similar baking pan), toss the apples with the sugar to taste, cinnamon, and flour.
- To make the topping--In a medium bowl, mix together all the topping ingredients with your fingers or a pastry cutter until small pebbly pieces of butter are distributed throughout the mixture.
- Sprinkle the entire mixture over the apples.
- Bake until the topping is golden and the fruit is bubbling and tender, about 1 hour and 15 minute.
- for a large crisp and 1 hour for individual crisps.
- Cool slightly before serving.
- You can make individual crisps by dividing the filling and topping among six ramekins or individual gratin dishes.
- Serve with heavy cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

- Preheat oven to 350. For streusel, whisk together 1 1/2 cups flour, sugar, brown sugar and 1/4 tsp. salt in bowl. Cut butter into flour mixture using a pastry blender til butter is pea sized
- Mix oats and pecans into flour mixture with your hands til thoroughly mixed. Cover and refrigerate
- For filling, soak cranberries in brandy, covered, til plumped, 20 minutes. Drain brandy and save for another use. Toss together apples, plumped cranberries, maple syrup, lemon juice, 2 Tbs. flour, cinnamon and 1/4 tsp. salt in large bowl. Transfer apple mixture to a 9 x 13 three quart baking dish. Cover apples with streusel and bake til apples are tender, about 50 minutes. Let apple crisp rest on cooling rack 30 minutes before serving. Serves 8

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Generously grease an 8x8 baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
- To make the topping: Combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and pecans in a large bowl until well-combined. Add in the pieces of butter and use your hands to squeeze and combine until the mixture becomes crumbly and resembles wet sand. (Alternatively, you can cut in the butter with a pastry cutter, or place all of the topping ingredients in a food processor and pulse until just blended. My favorite method is to use my hands, as I believe you get the best crumbly topping that way.)
- To make the filling: Place apples, maple syrup cinnamon and bourbon in a large bowl and toss to combine.
