Love 'em or hate 'em, Linus Tech Tips did just that a few months back- converted an old Mac Pro case to take an ATX board + water cooling etc. Now they went quite far, but even just getting the case to accept an ATX board and an off the shelf PSU took custom fabrication, and a TON of work.

WEB Jan 7, 2023 I cannibalized a motherboard tray and rear part of an old pc case, cut out the back of the mac pro and used jb weld epoxy and lined up the parts inside the case. For the radiator look up 240 radiator L bracket on amazon. I used jb weld again to glue it to the inside of the case.
