This is a delicious and easy dessert to make, short in ingredients and time. This is also a no-bake dessert, which makes it a summertime favorite! Looks beautiful in a trifle bowl. Great as a birthday or holiday dessert. Depending on how many people you are serving it usually does not last more than 1 day in my house! This can also be easily modified with other fresh fruits, but strawberry is our favorite! Pound cake cake work in place of angel food. Enjoy!

4 cups sliced fresh strawberries
2 tablespoons white sugar
3 cups cold milk
2 (3.4 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
1 prepared angel food cake
⅔ cup strawberry jam
3 cups frozen whipped topping (such as Cool Whip®), thawed
½ cup blueberries

Steps:

  • Toss strawberries and sugar together in a bowl; refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Beat milk and pudding mix together in a bowl with a whisk for about 2 minutes; fold whipped topping into the pudding mixture.
  • Slice angel food cake horizontally into 3 layers. Spread strawberry jam onto cut side of 1 layer putting it together with one of the remaining layers; cut into 2 inch pieces. Spread jam onto the remaining layer and also cut into 2-inch pieces; sandwich pieces together.
  • Layer about half the cake pieces into the bottom of a trifle bowl; top with a layer of about half the strawberries. Spread a layer of the pudding mixture atop the strawberries. Repeat layering. Top with blueberries.
  • Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 4 hours.

3 cups cold fat-free milk
2 packages (1 ounce each) sugar-free instant white chocolate pudding mix
1 prepared angel food cake (8 to 10 ounces), cut into 1-inch cubes
3 cups sliced fresh strawberries
3 cups fresh raspberries
1 carton (8 ounces) frozen reduced-fat whipped topping, thawed
3 whole strawberries, quartered

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, whisk milk and pudding mix for 2 minutes (mixture will be thick). , Place a third of the cake cubes in a trifle bowl or 3-1/2-qt. glass serving bowl. Top with a third of the pudding, 1 cup sliced strawberries, 1-1/2 cups raspberries and a third of the whipped topping. Layer with a third of the cake and pudding, 1 cup strawberries and a third of the whipped topping. , Top with remaining cake, pudding, strawberries, raspberries and whipped topping. Garnish with quartered strawberries. Serve immediately or cover and chill until serving.

1 cup fat-free vanilla yogurt
2 cups fat-free milk
1 package (3.4 ounces) instant lemon pudding mix
2 teaspoons grated lemon zest
2-1/2 cups sliced fresh strawberries, divided
1 tablespoon white grape juice or water
1 prepared angel food cake (12 ounces)
Optional: Whipped topping and additional strawberries

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and yogurt. Add the milk, dry pudding mix and lemon zest; beat until smooth. In a blender, process 1/2 cup strawberries and grape juice until blended. , Tear cake into 1-in. cubes; place a third in a trifle bowl or 3-qt. serving bowl. Top with a third of the pudding mixture and half of the remaining strawberries. Drizzle with half of the strawberry sauce. Repeat all layers. Top with remaining cake and pudding mixture. Garnish with whipped topping and additional strawberries, if desired. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

1 cup cold whole milk
1 cup sour cream
1 package (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding mix
1 teaspoon grated orange zest
2 cups heavy whipping cream, whipped
8 cups cubed angel food cake
4 cups sliced fresh strawberries

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, beat the milk, sour cream, pudding mix and orange zest on low speed until thickened. Fold in whipped cream. , Place half of the cake cubes in a 3-qt. glass bowl. SAM'S LOW FAT 3 LAYER STRAWBERRY PUDDING

This is one of my original recipes. My wife and I started a low fat diet 2 years ago. I missed my banana pudding, but the recipe I had was too high in fat for our diet. To make this recipe low fat, I reduced the wafers to reduced fat wafers, the milk to 2% instead of whole milk and the whipped topping to fat free whipped topping. Instead of strawberries you could use pineapple, bananas or blueberries. This is a quick and easy low fat dessert that your friends and family will love. Enjoy!

1 package(s) fresh strawberries, 30-34 strawberries
1 tablespoon(s) sugar
3/4 box(es) reduced fat vanilla wafers (50 wafers)
5.1 ounce(s) instant vanilla pudding & pie mix (large box)
2 cup(s) milk, 2%
8 ounce(s) fat free frozen whipped topping, thawed

Steps:

  • In a plastic slider bag, break 50 wafers into small pieces. They should be chunky pieces, not fine dust. In an 8x8 baking dish, put the pieces on the bottom and stack the whole pieces around the edge.
  • Cut strawberries into pieces and sprinkle with sugar. Let strawberries set for 10 minutes to absorb the sugar. Drain excess liquid off of strawberries and layer in the dish over the wafers.
  • Do not start the next step until you have the strawberries in the dish over the wafers. I got ahead of myself one time and made the pudding mix, which sets up really fast and my strawberries were still in the bowl. By the time I layered the strawberries, my pudding mix was a solid gooey mess
  • Mix pudding mix and milk in a bowl for 5 minutes. Tip: Pour the milk in fast over the mix and stir. The pudding mix calls for 3 cups of milk. I use 2 cups to make a thicker pudding.
  • Spread the pudding over the strawberries and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • Remove from refrigerator and cover the pudding with whipped topping. Take a few minutes and sit back and admire your new dessert, then serve.

Steps:

  • Prepare the angel food cake as per directions.
  • Prepare and chill the vanilla pudding mix.
  • Cut or tear the angel food cake into pieces.
  • Place a layer of cake cubes at the bottom of a glass bowl, then a layer of strawberries, spoon vanilla pudding on top, then repeat with a layer of cake cubes, strawberries and pudding until finished.
  • Chill until ready to serve.
  • Spoon the trifle into bowls and top with the Cool Whip Free.
