MAPLE NUT BARS



Maple Nut Bars image

A delicious bar with a buttery crust that melts in your mouth and a sweet nutty topping similar to pecan pie. I have decreased the amount of liquid in the recipe since the first review.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 1/2 cups flour
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 cup walnuts, chopped or 1 cup pecans
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • Combine flour and 2 tbsp brown sugar; cut in butter until coarse crumbs.
  • Press into an ungreased 9x9 or 11x7 bar pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
  • Beat eggs with 1/2 cup brown sugar, add the nuts, syrup, melted butter and vanilla. Pour over the crust.
  • Return to the oven for 25 more minutes or until set.
  • Cool slightly before cutting into bars.

This got rave reviews to everyone I served it to. Its awesome and I'm not a huge peanut butter fan! Makes three pies, though, so make it for lots of guests. Or just let them stay frozen for a while!

3 chocolate crumb crusts
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 cup milk
2 cups confectioners' sugar
2/3 cup peanut butter (creamy or extra crunchy)
2 (8 ounce) containers Cool Whip
chocolate syrup
nuts

Steps:

  • Let cream cheese soften.
  • Mix cream cheese and milk until smooth.
  • Blend in peanut butter and confectioner’s sugar.
  • Fold in Cool Whip.
  • Pour into pie shells.
  • Dribble chocolate syrup on top.
  • Sprinkle with chopped nuts.
  • Freeze (Serve frozen).

2 cups powdered sugar
2 cups crunchy peanut butter
8 ounces soft cream cheese
1 cup milk
16 ounces Cool Whip

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients together in large bowl and then pour into 3 graham cracker crust and put in the freezer overnight and when time to serve drizzle magic shell chocolate harding over top. enjoy!

Sounds strange, but tastes great! This is my mother-in-laws recipe and my husband insisted I share it with you! Make sure you serve it with whipped cream on top!

21 Ritz crackers, finely crushed
1/2 cup walnuts, finely chopped
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 egg whites
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 (8 ounce) container whipped topping (like Cool Whip)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • Prepare an 8" pie pan with cooking spray (Pam).
  • In a gallon size ziplock bag, crush the 21 Ritz Crackers until almost powder-like.
  • Add the finely chopped walnuts and 1 teaspoon baking powder.
  • Toss with a fork and set aside.
  • In a stand mixer or medium bowl using a hand mixer, beat the 3 egg whites until fluffy.
  • Slowly add 1 cup of sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat until stiff and glossy in appearance.
  • Fold the crackers/nuts into the egg whites and pour into the pie pan.
  • Bake for 30 minutes.
  • Allow to cool completely in refridgerator and top with whipped topping before serving. (Optional- add chocolate shavings on top). Enjoy!

1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
2 cups walnut pieces
1/4 cut butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 eggs, beaten
1 cup pure maple syrup
1 cup skim milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375. Spread nuts evenly on the bottom of the 9 inch unbaked pie shell; set aside. In mixing bowl, mix melted butter, vanilla, and flour. Add salt. Add eggs and beat til thoroughly mixed. Add maple syrup, and skim milk. Mix well. Pour the filling over the walnuts in the unbaked pie shell. The nuts will float to the top, use a spatula to gently push them under the liquid. (Making sure they are well saturated with the mix will keep them from burning)
  • Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool for 15 minutes before slicing. May be served with whipped cream. (note-Place in oven with care. I let the mix spill up onto the pie crust edge as I put in the oven. These spots of crust burned -- see picture).
