KAHLUA® BROWNIES WITH PEANUT BUTTER
This is a dairy-free and egg-free recipe for peanut butter brownies with a little Kahlua® added to enhance depth and richness.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch glass baking dish.
- Combine applesauce, sugar, peanut butter, water, coffee-flavored liqueur, egg replacer, honey, and vanilla extract in a large bowl; mix until well-blended.
- Sift flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt together in another bowl. Stir into applesauce mixture. Pour batter into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle walnuts on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven until edges are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached, 18 to 25 minutes.

A co-worker passed on this recipe at the request of many during a work luncheon. These brownies are very moist with a nice delicate flavor of Kahlua.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Melt butter and chocolate together; cool slightly.
- Beat eggs, sugar, and vanilla with the butter/chocolate mixture for 5 minutes.
- Add Kahlua then add the flour; beat just to blend.
- Stir in the nuts, if desired.
- Spread in a buttered 9" x 13" pan.
- Bake 35 to 40 minutes- Do Not Overbake.
- Cool completely.

- Grease a 9" square pan.
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together.
- Melt butter and chocolate together over low heat.
- Beat eggs and sugar until light.
- Add flour mixture, chocolate mixture and 1/4 cup Kahlua. Blend well.
- Bake 30 minutes or until done.
- Cool in pan.
- Brush with remaining Kahlua.

Steps:
- To make the brownies:.
- Melt together the butter and baking chocolate in a double boiler or microwavable bowl, stirring frequently.
- Pour into mixing bowl and let cool while you are collecting all your other ingredients.
- To the chocolate mixture, add the eggs and beat well.
- Then add the vanilla, kahlua and coffee crystals and mix well.
- Beat in the sugar, flour, salt and baking powder until well mixed.
- Scrape into a buttered 9x13 baking dish.
- Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes; do not overbake or the brownies will be dry.
- Let cool completely on a wire rack before frosting.
- For frosting:.
- To melt the chocolate squares, I like to use a 1 cup glass measuring cup in the microwave; stirring often and using short time periods.
- To slightly cooled chocolate, stir in vanilla, kahlua, and coffee crystals.
- In a mixing bowl, beat butter until creamy.
- Alternately add sugar and chocolate mixture , beating until smooth.
- Add salt to taste (the saltiness should just bring out the sweetness, not overpower it).
- Spread over cooled brownies.

- Preheat oven 350 degrees.
- Combine chocolate chips and margarine in a small saucepan; cook over medium low heat until chocolate melts, stirring constantly. remove from heat and stir in Kahlua and vanilla - set aside.
- Beat brown sugar and egg in a large bowl until well blended. Add the chocolate mixture and beat well. then add the remaining dry ingredients. coat an 8 in square baking pan with spray and pour batter inches.
- Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- When they come out, immediately sprinkle sugar on top.
- Cool cut and enjoy.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment or tin foil, leaving excess to hang around edges, and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a large bowl whisk the cocoa powder and espresso powder. In a small saucepan heat Kahlua just to a boil then pour over cocoa powder mixture. Whisk until smooth. Add unsweetened chocolate and whisk until melted and combined. Whisk in melted butter, vegetable oil, and 1/2 cup of the peanut butter. Whisk in eggs, vanilla, and sugar until smooth. With a rubber spatula fold in flour, salt, and chopped chocolate until just incorporated.
- Pour batter into prepared pan. Heat the remaining 1/2 cup peanut butter in microwave for 15-20 seconds until loose and smooth. Drop dollops of peanut butter onto batter. Using a skewer or knife, swirl peanut butter into batter. Bake for about 30 minutes. Let cool completely on wire rack in pan before removing from pan and cutting into squares. Store at room temperature for up to 4 days.
