DEAR ABBY FAMOUS PECAN PIE
The only pecan pie recipe you will use from here on out. One simple change to a main ingredient takes this holiday recipe up a notch.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place pie crust on a cookie sheet and set aside.
- In a medium size mixing bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, brown sugar and melted butter.
- Whisk in the eggs, salt and vanilla.
- Pour mixture into the unbaked pie crust.
- Carefully place the pecan halves on the surface of the filling in a circular pattern.
- Place the cookie sheet with the pie on top in the oven. This will keep any filling off the bottom of your oven and make it much easier and safer to remove the pie out of the oven.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 55-65 minutes. Don't forget to lightly cover pie with foil 30 minutes into the baking time.
- The pie is done when the top forms a slight dome and can be gently touched without caving in.
- At that point, remove from oven and let set until cooled completely. Once cooled, keep refrigerated.
- Enjoy!

WANDA'S WORLD FAMOUS PECAN PIE
This recipe is often requested by friends and family members. My mom gave them as gifts to all the neighbors. After they moved away, the new owners of my childhood home called to find out the recipe. It seems the neighbors told her that she must carry on the tradition of the pies!

- Preheat oven to 325°.
- Beat eggs.
- Add sugar, corn syrup, butter & vanilla and beat on medium speed with mixer.
- Fold in pecans until all are coated with goo.
- Pour into pie shells.
- Bake for 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.
- Wanda does not recommend deep dish pie shells for this recipe.
