DIY JUTE ROPE PLANT HANGER : 6 STEPS (WITH PICTURES) - INSTRUCTABLES

- Cutting the Rope. Begin by cutting the jute rope into pieces that are 2 meters in length. Depending on the size of your pot you may want to support the pot by either 3 points or 4 points.
- Creating the Harness. Next, tie the 8 pieces of rope together with some more colorful string. Make sure to wrap the string several times around the 8 pieces of rope to prevent the pot from slipping through.
- Making the Criss-cross Pattern. Once the bottom portion of the harness is complete, we can begin to make the crisscross pattern around the pot. Take one rope from one of the 4 groups of 2 and take another rope from the next group and tie the two together with some thread about 10 cms from the previous joint.
- Completing the Harness. Once the crisscross pattern has been created with the jute ropes, you should have approximately 1 meter of rope left. Create a firm knot with the ends of the ropes so that you can hang the planter.
- Adding the Plants. Depending on the type of pot you have used, we recommend adding small rocks at the base of the pot before adding a soil. Next add your favorite plants, herbs and creepers.
- Final Results. Now that you know how to build one hanging planter you can replicate the process for as many as you need. We made 5 hanging planters and used them in our patio which has given our garden a brand new look.
