Jello Sour Cream Fruit Salad Recipe 385 Food
DRY JELL-O SALAD (JELLO) COTTAGE CHEESE FRUIT SALAD
I could eat the whole bowl by myself! This is a great recipe for those who don't like Jell-O since you use it dry and it gives a totally different texture than traditional Jell-O salads. Hint: if you use orange flavored Jell-O use mandarin oranges instead of pineapple.

SOUR CREAM CRANBERRY JELL-O® SALAD
Great alternative to the typical cranberry salad served at Thanksgiving. This is a recipe that I have been making for so long that it is permanently imbedded in my memory. Very easy and delicious too.

Steps:
- Mash jellied cranberry sauce in a 3-quart bowl. Stir gelatin mix thoroughly into cranberry sauce. Pour boiling water into mixture and stir until gelatin has dissolved completely, about 3 minutes.
- Chill in refrigerator until softly set, 2 to 3 hours. Gently fold sour cream into gelatin mixture, leaving marbled streaks of sour cream and gelatin mix. Return to refrigerator until firmly set, 4 hours to overnight. Store leftovers in refrigerator.

- Combine1 can drained pineapple tidbits, 2 cans drained mandarin orange sections, 1 can drained fruit cocktail with 1 can of coconut and 2 cups miniature marshmallows.
- Add 1 tub of sour cream and mix well through the fruit. Chill and serve.
- This can be make two or three days ahead of serving.

- Dissolve strawberry jello in 3 cups boiling water. Let cool. Add fruits and mix well.
- Pour about half of jello/fruit mixture into bottom of 9x13 pan. Refrigerate until firm.
- Spread sour cream over first layer.
- Pour remaining jello mixture over sour cream.
- Chill until very firm.
