- Rinse Rice: Rinse rice under cold water by gently scrubbing the rice with your fingertips in a circling motion. Pour out the milky water, and continue to rinse until water is clear. Be sure to drain really well.
- Pressure Cook Rice: Add 1 cup (230g) rice and 1 cup (250ml) cold water in Instant Pot Pressure Cooker. Close the lid, turn Venting Knob to Sealing Position. Pressure Cook at High Pressure for 3 minutes, then Natural Release for 10 minutes. Turn Venting Knob to Venting position to release the remaining pressure. Open the lid quickly.
- Optional Seasoning: Add salt to the rice for seasoning.
- Fluff & Serve: Fluff rice with a fork, then serve warm. Enjoy~

- Wash the rice and drain the excess water.
- Add the rice in the pot of the Instant Pot.
- Add water, lemon juice, salt and oil and close the lid of the instant pot.
- Set the valve to sealing position.
- Press pressure cooker and set the timer to 4 minutes.
- Instant pot will take some time to build the steam and then it will start the cooking process.
- Once the cooking time is complete, let the steam release on it's own for 5 minutes.
- Release the steam by moving the valve to open position.
- Open the lid and fluff the rice gently using a fork.
- Serve hot

PERFECT INSTANT POT BASMATI RICE
Basmati rice is aromatic long grain rice that has a slightly nutty flavor to it. You can tell when this type of rice is cooked properly because the grains don't stick together. Briefly soaking the rice in cold water allows the rice to absorb some water, which helps keep it soft and reduces starch, which can make it sticky.

- Soak the basmati rice in cold water for 15-30 minutes. Drain, rinse and set aside.
- Press the sauté button and allow the pot to heat up for a minute. Then add the oil and swirl it around the pot. This will help ensure that the rice doesn't stick. Add the rice, water and salt to the pot and mix well.
- Secure the lid, close the pressure valve and cook for 6 minutes at high pressure.
- Naturally release pressure for 10 minutes. Open the valve to release any remaining pressure.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and serve.

- In Instant Pot, add brown rice, water and a pinch of salt. Close the lid, set pressure vent to Sealing and press Pressure Cook on High or Manual for 20 minutes.
- Pressure Release for 6 quart Instant Pot: Do Natural Release by allowing pressure come down on its own for perfectly cooked rice. Do not do Quick Release by turning pressure valve to Venting position. Rice won't be cooked.

- Pour the oil into the bottom of the Instant Pot cooking pot. Set the machine onto the low sauté function. Crack the cardamom pod in a pestle and mortar or on a chopping board with the side of a heavy knife. Add the cardamom, turmeric and cumin to the oil and fry for a minute until fragrant.
- Add the finely chopped onion along with the spices and cook with them until soft.
- Add the rice and stir until it is coated with the spice and oil mixture
- Pour over the stock, add the bay leaves and cinnamon stick and give a quick stir. Add a little salt.
- Programme the Instant Pot to cook on high pressure for 3 minutes with the keep warm function switched on.
