- Restart your computer. Restarting computer could resolve many hardware issues instantly. So it’s recommended you try this simple fix first before moving on.
- Update the driver. Your Lenovo keyboard not working problem is probably being caused by driver issues. The steps above may resolve it, but if they don’t, try to update the keyboard driver for your Lenovo laptop.
- Press the problem keys diagonally. This method may work for some specific keys no working on your Lenovo laptop keyboard. To fix the issue, press the keys associated with the problem diagonally (lower left side of the button) for a couple of seconds.
- Remove the battery and the power cable. This method has worked for many Lenovo laptop users who were experiencing the keyboard not working problem like you.
- Perform a system restore. If the keyboard stopped working after you updated Windows or installed some software, performing a system restore would solve the problem.
HOW TO FIX IT WHEN A LENOVO KEYBOARD IS NOT WORKING

- Update your Windows keyboard drivers. If the keyboard's drivers have somehow become corrupted, you can download the latest drivers from the Windows Device Manager.
- Disable other keyboards. If you added an external keyboard, it could be causing conflicts with the built-in keyboard. Go to your Device Manager to make sure only the default one is enabled.
- Disable Windows CTF Loader. If you use a smart stylus or other input devices, it can interfere with the keyboard. Close the CTF loader to rule out this problem.
- Turn off Cortana. The Windows smart assistant, Cortana, can also interfere with your computer's functionality. Temporary disable Cortana to see if it makes a difference.
- Disable Windows gaming mode. Windows has a gaming mode that affects how the laptop functions. Go to your settings to make sure it's turned off.
- Turn off Windows keyboard shortcuts. To clear out the keyboard shortcut settings, open the Windows Control Panel and go to Ease of Access > Ease of Access Center > Make the keyboard easier to use.
- Clean your keyboard. Spills are among the most common reasons for a keyboard not working, but a deep clean can sometimes fix the problem. Even if you haven't spilled anything, regularly cleaning your keyboard can increase its longevity.
- Connect a wireless keyboard to your laptop. While not technically a fix, using an external keyboard allows you to continue using your PC. Your Lenovo should support most Bluetooth and USB wired keyboards.
