How to Make Moong Daal Halwa image

Moong daal halwa is very delicious in Indian sweets. If you are planning for a small get together then it is perfect sweet dish.

1 cup split yellow moong dal, washed
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
7 cups ghee
2 teaspoons ghee
1 bowl nuts, Almonds, Cashews, pistachios

Steps:

  • Soak the moong dal for 2-3 hours.
  • Now remove all the water and Grind the daal without adding water.
  • Take a heavy Pan and add oil/refined.
  • When oil goes warm, add grind daal in it.
  • Now fry the continuous lentils. It takes about 20 minutes to roast it.
  • Taste it a little and if you feel a bit raw in the dal then fry for a while.
  • Now remove the lentils in a plate and keep it slightly or put it in a steel strainer. All the oil will get out of it.
  • If you are using a plate, then it will take 2-3 hours.
  • If you are going out in the strainer, then oil will get out in 15-20 minutes.
  • Take a pan and Put water and sugar in it.
  • Allow the sugar to dissolve after 5 minutes.Now add pulse to it slowly. Mix well in the syrup.Cover the pan and let it cook on a low flame.
  • Cut cashews, pistachios and almonds.
  • Stir the daal once again.
  • Mix the dry fruits and stir again.
  • Take the bowl to serve halwa and garnish it with dry fruits.

120 g split yellow lentils (moong daal)
2 cardamom pods
5 tablespoons oil
100 g skimmed dry milk
25 g almonds
20 g Splenda granular, low cal sugar
100 ml water

Steps:

  • Wash and soak the lentils for 30 minutes. Drain out water and grind into a rough paste.
  • Heat oil in a kadhai and fry the lentil paste till light golden in colour. Put the sugar and water to boil in another pan. Stir continuously till the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Add to the fried daal. Cook, stirring vigorously till the mixture becomes thick. now Add cardamom powder,dry milk and almonds.

  • Moong Dal Halwa is a delicious and simple recipe that you can prepare anytime. First of all, soak moong dal in water preferably for 12 to 15 hours. After that, make a smooth paste of dal in a grinding jar. Avoid using water and let the paste remain a little thick.
  • Afterwards, put a pan over medium flame and heat ghee in it. Once the ghee is hot enough, add the ground dal paste and roast until ghee is absorbed by the dal paste. This will take 2-5 minutes. Add sugar in it and stir well for 2-3 minutes. Finally, add water and stir well. Close the lid and let dal paste cook for 10-15 minutes.
  • Open the lid after 15 minutes. Now, add chopped dry fruits to the pan and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Serve hot!
