FRIED OREOS
Okay, I know this is strange but it is in response to a request on the boards. Actually looks interesting and if you're going to blow calories on Oreos why not have them deep fried to boot? :)

Steps:
- Preheat deep fryer to 375 degrees F.
- Combine pancake mix, milk, eggs and oil.
- Mix until there are no lumps.
- Dip Oreos into batter, make sure both sides are covered and put the Oreos into the deep fryer.
- You will need to watch these as the cookies tend to float- so be sure to turn them.
- Also be careful that they don't burn- you just want them golden brown.
- Remove the cookies and drain well.
- The cookies are best straight out of the deep fryer!
DEEP FRIED OREOS®
This is a carnival favorite where I grew up. Oreos get dipped into pancake batter and fried - yummy!! You can do this with or without a deep fryer.

Steps:
- Heat oil in deep-fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Whisk together the egg, milk, and 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil in a bowl until smooth. Stir in the pancake mix until no dry lumps remain. Dip the cookies into the batter one at a time, and carefully place into the hot frying oil. Fry only 4 or 5 at a time to avoid overcrowding the deep fryer. Cook until the cookies are golden-brown, about 2 minutes. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate before serving.

DEEP FRIED OREOS
I had these at a local county fair and just had to try to make them. They are delicious. You can substitute your favorite dry pancake mix for the Bisquick. They are best when eaten warm. If you are want to try a lighter version, use lowfat milk, canola oil, and reduced fat Oreos.

HOW TO MAKE FRIED OREOS

Steps:
- Pour 2-3 inches (5-7.5cm) cooking oil in a heavy cooking pot. The pot should be deep enough so the sides are at least 4 inches (10cm) higher than the oil. When deep frying, there should be enough oil to completely cover the food you are frying, but the pot should not be more than half way full of oil. To fry, use a vegetable oil with a high smoking point and little to no flavor, like refined peanut oil, canola oil, grapeseed oil, or safflower oil. If you don't have a heavy cooking pot, or one with a very thick, heavy bottom, you can use a wok or a deep sauté pan instead.
- Heat the oil to 375ºF (191ºC). Use a frying, candy, or thermocouple thermometer. These thermometers show temperatures up to 500ºF (260°C). To check temperature of the oil, hold it in the center of the pan. If your thermometer clips to the side of the pan it will be easy to keep track of the temperature as you work. If you don't have a thermometer, stick a wooden spoon, skewer, or chopstick into the oil. If the oil bubbles around the wood, it's hot enough for frying. You can also use a kernel of popcorn to check the temperature. It will pop in oil that is 350ºF (178ºC), so you will know when it is close to optimum frying temperature. If the oil begins to smoke, it's too hot. Carefully removed your pan from the stove to cool.
AIR FRYER FRIED OREOS
This carnival treat is easy to replicate at home with your air fryer. We doctored up pancake mix to create a sweet batter that gets light, golden and crisp. The key to a perfect coating is to get the batter's consistency right-so adjust as needed with extra mix.

Steps:
- Cut 2 sheets of parchment to fit the basket of a 3.5-quart air fryer without hanging over the edges and set aside. Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees F.
- Whisk together the egg, milk and vanilla in a medium bowl. Add the pancake mix and sugar and whisk until smooth. The batter should be the consistency of thick cake batter to allow it to coat the cookie and hold its shape. If necessary, adjust the consistency by adding more pancake mix 1 tablespoon at a time.
- Line the basket of the air fryer with a parchment piece and spray lightly with cooking spray. Dip 6 cookies in the batter, letting the excess drip back into the bowl. Arrange the cookies on the parchment in a single layer without touching. (Make sure to place a cookie on each of the four corners so the parchment doesn't fly up during cooking.) Air fry at 350 degrees F until the battered coating is golden brown and puffed, about 7 minutes. Remove and repeat with the remaining sheet of parchment and cookies.
- Dust the fried Oreos with confectioners' sugar just before serving.
