Categories     Appetizers and Snacks     Spicy

Time 35m

Yield 6

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 pounds chicken wings, tips discarded
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (add more if you can stand it)
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 cup honey
½ cup butter, melted
½ cup hot sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat and lightly oil grate.
  • Wash the wings well and pat dry with paper towel. Season the meat with cayenne, salt, and pepper.
  • Cook the chicken wings on preheated grill until cooked through and juices run clear, 20 to 30 minutes depending on the size of the wings. Brush the wings liberally using 1/2 cup of honey while they are cooking.
  • Melt the butter, pour into a large bowl and mix in the remaining 1/2 cup of honey and hot sauce. Remove the wings from the grill and immediately toss them in the hot honey butter sauce to coat. Serve the wings 'wet' or return them to the grill for 1 minute per side to set the sauce.

Provided by Ree Drummond : Food Network

Time 1h

Yield 4 to 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 1/2 pounds chicken wings
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 cup honey
1 tablespoon barbecue sauce
1 tablespoon Louisiana hot sauce
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
2 jalapenos, thinly sliced
1 serrano chile, thinly sliced
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

  • For the wings: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a sheet pan with foil, then place a metal rack on the pan.
  • Pat the wings dry with kitchen paper, then sprinkle with the salt, pepper and smoked paprika on both sides. Place them on the rack, making sure they are not touching. • For the hot honey sauce: Meanwhile, add the honey, barbecue sauce, Louisiana hot sauce, vinegar, jalapenos and serranos to a small pot over low heat. Stir to combine. Bring to a simmer and continue to cook on low until reduced and slightly thickened, about 20 minutes.

  • For the garnish: Place the wings on a platter and sprinkle over the chopped parsley. Serve with a bowl of ranch dressing for dipping.

Sticky Honey-Soy Chicken Wings image

Provided by Tyler Florence

Categories     appetizer

Time 2h25m

Yield 6 to 8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 11

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup honey
Sesame seeds, for garnish
2 pounds chicken wings
1 cup low sodium soy sauce,
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro leaves
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 lemon, juiced

Steps:

  • Rinse chicken wings and pat dry. Remove tip and discard; separate each wing at the joint into 2 pieces. Place wings in a shallow dish and pour over the soy sauce, ginger, cilantro, garlic, and lemon juice. Toss well to coat; marinate, refrigerated, for 2 hours.
  • Remove wings from marinade and pat dry; season with salt and pepper. In a large saute pan over medium-high heat, melt the butter in the olive oil. When the butter stops foaming, add the honey and chicken wings and fry until browned on each side, about 5 minutes. Continue cooking the wings, turning them over often to coat them as the glaze reduces. Cook until the wings are sticky and cooked through. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve.

Provided by Food Network

Categories     appetizer

Time 39m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 19

20 chicken wings
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons garlic powder
3 tablespoons Essence, recipe follows
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground white pepper
Vegetable oil, for frying
1 cup hot pepper sauce
1/2 cup honey
3 tablespoons dark brown sugar
Blue cheese or ranch dressing, for serving
2 1/2 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons salt
2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon dried thyme

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or nonstick aluminum foil.
  • To prepare chicken wings, cut off wing tips at the joint and discard the tips or reserve for another use. In a large bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, Essence, salt, and white pepper. Dredge the wings in the flour mixture, shaking off the excess and let set on a plate.
  • In a large, deep-sided pot, heat several inches of vegetable oil to 350 degrees F. When the oil is heated, dredge the wings a second time, again shaking off the excess.
  • Deep-fry the wings until crispy and golden brown, about 12 minutes. While wings are frying, mix the hot sauce, honey, and brown sugar in a large bowl until mixture is smooth. Remove the wings from the oil, pat dry and then dip in the hot sauce mixture to coat. Lay the wings on the baking sheet. Bake coated wings until the sauce is dry, about 12 minutes. Serve hot with blue cheese or ranch dressing.
  • Combine all ingredients thoroughly.

Crunchy Oven Baked Hot Honey Wings image

Chicken wings soaked in buttermilk, coated with corn flake crumbs, baked crisp and drizzed with hot pepper honey glaze...you can't stop eating them!

Provided by Boomdog02

Categories     Chicken

Time 55m

Yield 5-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 11

20 chicken wings, tips removed, disjointed
2 cups buttermilk
2 cups kellogs corn flake crumbs
1/2 cup self rising flour
1/4 cup cornmeal
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup honey
2 tablespoons red chili pepper flakes

Steps:

  • Soak the wings in buttermilk, 4 hours or up to overnight.
  • Pre-heat oven to 385 degrees.
  • Drain wings in colander.
  • Mix all dry ingredients (except chili flakes).
  • dredge wings in coating mixture and place on greased tray or baking sheet.
  • spray wings lightly with non stick spray to help them crisp and "fry" in the oven.
  • Bake wings about 35-40 minutes until crisp and lightly browned.
  • While wings bake, put honey and chilis in a saucepan over low heat. The honey will get thin very quickly and once it does you can turn off the heat.

  • Dig in and enjoy!

HONEY & SRIRACHA HOT WINGS

Honey & sriracha hot wings image

Enjoy crisp hot wings straight from the oven - no need for deep-frying - with this clever recipe. Eat unglazed or try our honey and sriracha glaze

Provided by Barney Desmazery

Categories     Side dish, Snack

Time 1h

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic granules
2 tbsp baking powder
1 tbsp cornflour
16 chicken wings (about 1.5kg)
2 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
1 tbsp cider vinegar
3 tbsp honey
4 tbsp sriracha

Steps:

  • Mix the paprika with the garlic granules, baking powder, cornflour, 1 tsp sea salt flakes and a good grinding of black pepper. Tip the chicken wings into a large bowl, scatter over half the seasoning mix and toss to coat. Scatter with the rest of the seasoning mix and toss again until completely coated. Cover the wings and keep chilled for at least 2 hrs, or up to 24 hrs.
  • Heat the oven to 230C/210C fan/gas 8 and line a large shallow roasting tin with baking parchment. Arrange the wings in a single layer, fleshy-side down, and roast for 20 mins, then turn over and roast for another 25-30 mins until the skin is blistered and crisp.
  • Meanwhile, whisk the glaze ingredients together in a small bowl until smooth. Remove the wings from the oven and brush liberally with the glaze, then scatter over the sesame seeds, if using. Roast for another 8-10 mins until the glaze is bubbling and starting to char a little. Serve straight from the roasting tin or pile onto a plate for everyone to dig in.

HONEY BAKED CHICKEN WINGS

Honey Baked Chicken Wings image

My dad made something similar and I tried to copy him. I like honey and this is what my efforts yielded. The dish is actually better the next day as leftovers, because the flavors really soak in.

Provided by toypup

Categories     Chicken

Time 50m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

24 chicken wings
2 teaspoons salt
4 teaspoons sugar
soy sauce
honey

Steps:

  • Throw some salt and sugar on the chicken wings.
  • Add enough soy sauce to nicely coat the chicken wings.
  • Place the chicken wings on a lightly greased cookie sheet in a single layer.
  • Squeeze honey over chicken wings (I turn the bottle of honey over and squeeze, making about three passes over each wing).
  • Bake at about 375 until honey carmelizes, turning occasionally-- It may take about 45 minutes-- Keep an eye on it--I like it when the wings are really browned but not burned.

HOT HONEY BBQ GARLIC WINGS

Hot Honey BBQ Garlic Wings image

This was inspired by my favorite sauce from a place called "The Terrace" in Apalachin, NY, they had many different flavored wings. I decided after not finding a recipe similar on-line to make one up on my own. First time and it came out wonderful! The only thing I would change is to add more garlic if you really love garlic. Hope you all enjoy this recipe as much as we did.
