Author Mason Howard
- Cut three long strips of nylon netting measuring 6 inches by 72 inches for a smaller-size scrubber (good for dish washing) or 8 inches by 72 inches for a larger-size scrubber (good for the shower and bath).
- Use the threaded needle to knot together one end of the stacked together strips. Use a single not placed at the center-point of that edge.
- Use the threaded needle to sew down the middle of the three strips using a long stitch. Use approximately 1- to 1 1/2-inch long stitches. Once you get to the other end, reverse and create another stitch line going the other direction.
- Pinch the knotted end in your fingers and pull on the needle and thread in order to contract and bunch together the nylon netting.
- Wrap the thread a few times around the center of the bunch and secure it with a knot. Cut off the excess thread. For hanging on a shower rack, a looped piece of soft rope can also be tied around the center.

- Tie the free end of the strand of nylon net into a slip knot and place the loop over a medium-sized crochet hook, from size H to J, and chain four.
- Single crochet eight times into the circle and slip-stitch into the top of the first single crochet to end the first round. Chain three. Advertisement.
- Double crochet twice into each single crochet around, slip-stitching into the second chain to finish the second round. Chain three. Advertisement.
- Increase the size of your circle in either double or single crochet until it is 3 to 4 inches in diameter. The technique for increasing a circle is to stitch twice into the first stitch of a round and once into the second stitch, and then repeat the sequence to the end of the round.
- Decrease the number of single stitches in a repeating sequence by one for each round to create a double-sided pot scrubber. As the circle gets smaller, it forms a pillowy pad for a more durable scrubber.
- Join the last round with a slip-stitch and cut the netting yarn with scissors, leaving a 6-inch tail. Pull the tail through the last stitch with your crochet hook.
