Provided by Kayla Chandler

Categories     Breakfast

Time 12m

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 lb 75-80% Lean Ground Beef (get grass-fed, if possible, for higher quality beef)
1 tsp Sea Salt
1 tsp Paprika
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Dried Sage
1/2 tsp Dried Thyme
1/2 tsp Onion Powder
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
1-2 Tbsp Avocado Oil, Butter, or Ghee (for cooking)

Steps:

  • In a mixing bowl, add all of the ingredients (except the oil/butter) and mix until fully combined.
  • Separate ground beef mixture into 6 equal parts, roll into a tight ball, and press into a patty shape to about 1/2 inch thick.
  • Add oil/butter to a large skillet over medium heat. Place patties into the skillet and cook on each side until fully cooked through and browned around the edges. *Feel free to cover with a lid to help it cook faster.
  • Place a paper towel onto a large plate. Once the sausages are done, transfer them to this plate to allow the paper towel to soak up any excess grease.
  • Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator up to 5 days. ENJOY!

GROUND BEEF BREAKFAST SAUSAGE PATTIES

Ground Beef Breakfast Sausage Patties image

This recipe for ground beef breakfast sausage patties shows you how to turn ground beef into a delicious breakfast sausage using simple seasonings from your pantry. Take your breakfast to the next level by making your own healthy breakfast sausage with clean real food ingredients!

Provided by Valerie Skinner

Categories     Breakfast

Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 pound Ground Beef
1 batch Breakfast Sausage Seasoning Blend
1 tbsp Fennel Seed
1/2 tsp Red Chili Flake (for spicy sausage)
1 tsp Poultry Seasoning
1 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Ground Black Pepper

Steps:

  • Prepare Ground Beef: Add your ground beef to a large bowl. It's best if the ground beef rests at room temperature for 10-15 minutes to make sure it stays tender when cooking. Cooking cold meat in a hot pan will cause the beef to become too tough.
  • Add In Spice Blend: Add in breakfast sausage spice blend to the bowl with the ground beef.
  • Blend Sausage and Seasoning: With your hands, mix the ground beef and spices all together. Make sure you're not overmixing the meat.
  • Heat Your Skillet: Add a thin layer of cooking oil to your skillet and turn the heat on medium high. Let heat up for a few minutes.
  • Form Your Breakfast Sausage Patties: Take seasoned ground beef and make a large log. Portion into 8 even pieces. Take each piece and flatten into patties that are ¼ inch thick.

Yield Makes 8 small patties

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 pound ground pork
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon dried sage, crumbled
3/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon dried fennel, crushed
Pinch of ground nutmeg

2 teaspoons vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Mix together the pork, garlic, sage, thyme, fennel, nutmeg, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl. Add the egg white and combine thoroughly. Cover and chill for at least 15 minutes.
  • To easily form the sausage patties, rinse your hands in cold water. Divide the mixture into eighths and shape each portion into a 2 1/2-inch disk. Patties can be made to this point and refrigerated or frozen until ready to use.
  • Heat a skillet over high heat, and then swirl in the oil. Fry the sausages on both sides until completely cooked through and golden brown, about 4 minutes per side. Drain and serve immediately with pancakes, waffles or eggs. Sausage patties can be fully cooled, wrapped, and frozen for microwave reheating.
