6 halibut fillets (1-1/2 lb.), 2 inches thick
1/2 cup BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream
1/3 cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese
1/3 cup KRAFT Real Mayo Mayonnaise
1 Tbsp. lemon pepper seasoning
dash ground red pepper (cayenne)
3/4 cup panko bread crumbs

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 425ºF.
  • Place fish on rimmed baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Mix all remaining ingredients except bread crumbs; spoon over fish. Top with crumbs.
  • Bake 20 to 25 min. or until fish flakes easily with fork.

Halibut from the clear, icy waters off the coast of Alaska is prized for its delicate flavor, snow-white color and firm texture.

1 cup dry white wine
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 lbs alaska halibut steaks, thawed if necessary
1/4 cup fine dry breadcrumb
sour cream & mayonnaise
1/4 cup minced green onion
paprika (Sprinkle)

Steps:

  • Combine wine and salt; pour over halibut. Marinate in refrigerator at least 1 hour. Drain halibut on paper towels; dip both sides in breadcrumbs. Place halibut in shallow buttered baking dish. Combine sour cream, mayonnaise and green onions; spread over halibut.
  • Sprinkle with paprika. Bake at 400°F for 10 minutes per inch of thickness, measured at the thickest part, or until halibut flakes when tested with a fork.

Number Of Ingredients 7

2-3 pounds of Halibut Steaks boned
1 1/2 cup sour Cream
1 1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 T of chopped onion
3 T of lemon juice
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup grated cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Place halibut in baking dish. Mix together all ingredients and pour over halibut. Bake at 375 for 25 minutes. Serves 6. You can substitute any other white fish for the halibut.

I got this recipe from a place I stayed in Alaska quite a few years ago. The chef was accommodating in giving it to me, but as you can see - no measurements. You get to "guess-and-by-gosh" it, or adjust for taste. Hope you enjoy it.

mayonnaise (equal parts mayo and sour cream)
sour cream
salt
pepper (I use basil or dill)
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
sliced onion, as much as you like
sliced tomatoes
shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Grease baking pan.
  • Layer fish with onions and sliced tomatoes.
  • Spread sauce over top of fish (cover thoroughly).
  • Cover with foil.
  • Bake 1/2 hour or so at 350 (until the contents simmer).
  • Sprinkle mozzarella on top.
  • Broil until cheese melts.

2 lbs halibut, cut in 1- inch pieces
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
2 teaspoons flour
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon minced onion
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425°F.
  • Rinse halibut and pat dry.
  • Arrange halibut side by side in greased 8 X 12-inch baking dish.
  • In small bowl, stir together mayonnaise, sour cream and flour.
  • Stir in lemon juice, onion and pepper.
  • Spoon mixture over fish to coat completely.
  • Bake uncovered for 14 minutes or until fish is opaque in center of thickest piece.
  • Add cheese, bake until melted.
