HALF MOONS II
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
- Mix the butter with the nuts and sugar until well combined. Add the flour and the vanilla and mix.
- Rolling about a tablespoon of dough in your hand, form a half moon or crescent shape.
- Bake cookies on ungreased cookie sheets at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 15 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheets and roll in white sugar.

TUNA HALF MOONS
This was a recipe that I made with my Girl Scout troop when teaching them some cooking methods.Of course, since THEY made them, they LOVED them. Actually, so did I!

Steps:
- Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees.
- Mix together the tuna, mayonnaise, onion juice, and curry powder.
- Separate the biscuits and with a rolling pin, roll them out approximately 1/4 inch thick.
- Place a spoonful of tuna mixture on one half of dough nd fold the other half over and seal the edges with a little water.
- Press edges with a fork to close.
- Brush tops with butter.
- Bake 8-10 minutes or until golden.
- These are good hot or cold -- and they travel well.

ALMOND HALF-MOONS
These Crisp little cookies, reminiscent of Chinese almond cookies, will taste great in any shape your cookie press makes, but be sure to choose a tip with at least a 1/2 -inch opening. Otherwise, the ground nuts might get caught in the opening.

Steps:
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter or margarine with an electric mixer on medium high speed for 30 seconds. Add the sugar; beat till combined. Beat in the egg and almond extract.
- Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Stir in any remaining flour and the ground nuts with a wooden spoon. Do not chill dough.
- Pack dough into a cookie press fitted with a 1/2 -inch wide round or star tip. Force dough through the cookie press 1-inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheets forming crescent shapes.
- Bake in a preheated 375F oven for 6-8 minutes, or till edges are firm and bottoms are lightly browned. Remove cookies from pans and cool on a rack. Sprinkle cookies with powdered sugar.

- Cream lard in a large mixing bowl; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add molasses, sour cream, spices, soda, and salt; beat well. Stir in pecans. Add flour to form a stiff dough. Divide into 4 equal portions. Cover and chill overnight.
- Roll one portion of dough to 1/2-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface; keep remaining dough chilled until ready to use. Cut with a half-moon cutter. Place on lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from cookie sheets, and cool completely on wire racks. Repeat procedure with remaining dough.
