GROWN-UP ROOTBEER FLOAT

Grown-up Rootbeer Float image

A local liquor store carried mini bottles of 4 different Tippy Cow rum flavors. This one is similar to, and you can substitute, RumChata instead. Actually, they are both made by the same company. Not sure how widely distributed they are. Regardless, this is an easy and tasty combination of flavors. Reminiscent of summer, but works well any time of year!

Number Of Ingredients 3

12 ounce(s) diet root beer (or regular)
2-3 ounce(s) tippy cow vanilla soft serve flavored rum
whipped cream, for optional garnish

HOMEMADE ROOT BEER FLOAT

Homemade Root Beer Float image

Provided by Kelsey Nixon

Categories     beverage

Time 20m

Yield 1 gallon

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 gallon carbonated water
2 1/2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons root beer concentrate
1 pound broken dry ice
Vanilla ice cream, for serving

Steps:

  • Combine the carbonated water, sugar and root beer concentrate in an extra-large bowl or punch bowl - something that is food-safe and won't break when the dry ice is added. Don't cover with a lid. Gently stir until the sugar is dissolved. Add the dry ice to the mixture in a well-ventilated area. The mixture will start to bubble. Let the mixture sit for 15 minutes to fully carbonate.
  • Ladle some of the root beer into a glass. Top with desired amount of vanilla ice cream.
