GREAT GRANDMA'S HOMEMADE SPAGHETTI SAUCE
My great-grandma's recipe for homemade spaghetti sauce is the best! It uses ingredients you probably already have at home! Plus- your house will smell fantastic when the sauce is simmering on your stove!

Steps:
- Brown meat and Italian sausage (break it up as you stir it. You may want to heat up a little olive oil (about 2 minutes) before adding the meat...)
- Add chopped onions to the meat mixture and continue cooking. Stir occasionally until onions are softened.
- Next, add your diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and tomato sauce.
- Next, mix in the spices, sugar, and garlic.
- Once your sauce is cooking (bring to a boil), add your wine and water.
- Simmer on low (stir often) for an hour.
- Optional: Let it simmer for an additional 3-4 hours, just to let the flavors combine even more.

ONE-PAN PASTA
It's one of our most popular recipes and for good reason. This is our original one-pot pasta recipe, inspired by a dish one of our food editors ate in Puglia, Italy. All the ingredients cook together in a straight-sided skillet, you don't even need to boil water first-and it's on the table in just 20 minutes.

Steps:
- Combine pasta, tomatoes, onion, garlic, red-pepper flakes, basil, oil, 2 teaspoons salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, and water in a large straight-sided skillet. Bring to a boil over high heat. Boil mixture, stirring and turning pasta frequently with tongs, until pasta is al dente and water has nearly evaporated, about 9 minutes.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper, divide among 4 bowls, and garnish with basil. Serve with oil and Parmesan.
GRANDMA'S SPAGHETTI SAUCE
This is a recipe my grandma made for years and she never wrote it down until I was learning how to make it. It is a sweet meat sauce. I love it and just wanted to share it with everyone else. Let me know what you think. This recipe makes a lot of sauce. I usually put 4 cups in a resealable plastic bag and freeze for later use.

Steps:
- Start by browning the hamburger with the onion, green pepper and mushrooms. ( I use a lid to get the peppers and onions soft).
- Next, after the meat is brown, the onion and green peppers are soft and the mushrooms have cooked, add the ketchup and tomato juice.
- Break your spaghetti noodles into thirds, add and stir GENTLY into the sauce.
- Cover and cook stirring about ever 5-10 minutes for about 30-45 minutes, or until the noodles are done.
- HINT: You may want to start off by not using all the tomato juice from the can. I usually find that the more noodles you use the more juice you need. I like mine filled with noodles so I always use much more.
