GRAHAM CRACKER FRUITCAKE

Graham Cracker Fruitcake image

I like fruitcake as long as it doesn't have a lot of strange fruit in it. I like dates, candied cherries, raisins, and walnuts. So that limits a lot fruitcakes although I have changed recipes to suit my taste. I also like graham crackers, so when I found this on the cracker box years ago, I had to try it. I liked it.

MAMMA'S ICEBOX FRUITCAKE

Mamma's Icebox Fruitcake image

My family doesn't really like the traditional fruitcake, but will eat this like crazy. The thing I like most about it is that it freezes really good. You can make it a month in advance, freeze, defrost and serve later. Cook time is actually chill time.

1950's Uncooked Fruit Cake' image

This is an old recipe and some adaptations might have to be made to match modern packaging. The finished product may be packed into loaf pans or rolled into logs in waxed paper to make for easier serving. Graham Cracker may also be used.

CONTEST-WINNING FRUITCAKE COOKIES

Contest-Winning Fruitcake Cookies image

Since I've enjoyed cooking almost my entire life-I've been doing it since I was old enough to be able to-I should have known the way my husband and I would meet. I was working at our local county fair (when I retired 2 years ago, I was its executive director)...and Mehrle and his dad were putting up a dining room on the grounds one day! This recipe's one people always ask for. They tell me it's habit-forming! I'm the kind of cook who starts with a basic recipe, then throws in "extras" to make it my own. I'm also the type who doesn't like making the same old thing over and over. So it's good my husband's the way he is-Mehrle's happy to eat just about anything I serve.
