6 tablespoons soy sauce
3 teaspoons sugar
3 tablespoons sesame seed oil
1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
1 lb boneless beef sirloin or 1 lb flank steak, sliced into 1/4 inch strips
5 teaspoons sesame oil, divided
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons freshly grated ginger
1 cup grated carrot
1 red pepper, seeded,and cut into strips
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon water

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the marinade ingredients and add beef strips.
  • Toss to coat well.
  • Allow to marinade 30 minutes or overnight.
  • In frying pan or electric wok, heat 2 tsp oil over medium heat.
  • Stir fry beef mixture in oil 2-3 minutes or until browned.
  • Remove from pan, and set aside.
  • In pan add remaining 3 tsps of oil, and stir fry vegetables, garlic and ginger for 1 minute.
  • Add beef back to pan and stir fry 2 minutes.
  • Mix cornstarch and water together and add to frying pan.
  • Cook, stirring constantly, until sauce is thickened.
  • Serve with rice or oriental noodles.

1-1/2 pounds beef top sirloin steak, cut into 1/4-inch-thick strips
1 cup beef broth

4 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons grated orange zest
6 teaspoons canola oil, divided
2 medium carrots, diagonally cut into thin slices
1 tablespoon minced fresh gingerroot

Steps:

  • Mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch, water and salt; toss with beef. In a small bowl, mix broth, soy sauce, sugar, orange zest and remaining cornstarch until smooth., In a large skillet, heat 2 teaspoons oil over medium-high heat; stir-fry half of the beef until browned, 2-3 minutes. Remove from pan. Repeat with additional 2 teaspoons oil and remaining beef., Stir-fry carrots in remaining oil 2 minutes. 1 lb flank steaks or 1 lb sirloin steak, sliced into narrow strips
3/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup water
2 eggs
1 large carrot, julienned
3 green onions, chopped
1/4 cup fresh ginger, minced
5 garlic cloves, minced
canola oil
3 tablespoons soy sauce
4 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1/2 cup sugar
3 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes, to taste

Steps:

  • Place cornstarch in a large bowl.
  • Add water gradually while whisking.
  • Beat eggs into cornstarch mixture.
  • Toss in beef and stir to coat.
  • Pour 1 inch of oil into wok, heat until boiling hot, but not smoking.
  • Add a quarter of the beef to the oil.
  • Seperate with a fork and cook, stirring frequently, until crispy, Remove, drain on paper towel and set aside.
  • Repeat until all the beef is cooked.
  • Drain off all oil except for about 1 tablespoons and add carrots, onion, ginger, and garlic in that order.
  • Stir fry briefly over high heat.
  • Combine last 5 ingredients and add to vegetable mixture.
  • Bring to a boil and then add beef.
  • Heat thorough and serve immediately.

1 (1 inch) piece fresh ginger root, peeled and thinly sliced

1 red bell pepper, chopped

¼ cup sweet and sour sauce
4 cups cooked rice

Steps:

  • Place steak, ginger, and soy sauce in a bowl; turn to coat steak. Cover tightly; marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.
  • Heat a wok over high heat; pour in beef mixture. Cover wok; cook until beef is browned, about 5 minutes. Remove beef from wok.

1/4 cup soy sauce

1 garlic clove, crushed
1 bunch green onion, sliced diagonally into 1-inch pieces
3 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
1/4 lb sugar snap pea
1 1/2 cups fresh bean sprouts
2 cups cooked rice

Steps:

  • Thinly slice flank steak diagonally across the grain.
  • In a slow cooker, combine steak, consomme, soy sauce, ginger, onions, and garlic.
  • Cover and cook on LOW 5-6 hours or until steak is tender.
  • Turn control to HIGH.
  • Dissolve cornstarch in water in a small bowl and stir into cooker.

2 onions, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
5 teaspoons grated fresh ginger root
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
¼ teaspoon crushed dried chile pepper
1 ½ teaspoons salt
1 ¼ pounds flank steak, cut into strips
1 tablespoon peanut oil
1 (14.5 ounce) can peeled and diced tomatoes, drained
1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed onion soup
2 cups uncooked long-grain white rice
1 quart water

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, mix onions, garlic, ginger, turmeric, dried chile pepper, and salt. Place flank steak in the mixture, and toss to coat. Cover, and place in the refrigerator at least 15 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a Dutch oven over medium high heat, and stir in onion and steak mixture. Cook and stir until steak is lightly browned. Mix in tomatoes, and cook over high heat about 10 minutes.
  • Mix onion soup into the Dutch oven. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 1 hour, until meat is tender.
  • Place rice and water in a medium saucepan, and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes. Serve the steak mixture over the cooked rice.

1 1/2 lbs flank steaks
2 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup water
oil
1/2 cup carrot, grated
1/4 cup green onion, chopped
1/4 cup fresh ginger, finely chopped
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
3 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons wine (red or white)
2 tablespoons white vinegar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1/3-1/2 cup sugar
crushed red pepper flakes (optional and to taste)

Steps:

  • Slice the steak while partially frozen into narrow strips (this makes it easier to slice).
  • Defrost the meat completely and squeeze out any excess water in the beef strips.
  • In a bowl, mix together the beef strips and beaten eggs.
  • Dissolve the cornstarch in 1/2 cup water, and mix with beef/egg mixture.
  • Pour in about 3-4 tablespoons of oil in a wok until very hot, but not smoking.
  • Add half of the beef to the oil.
  • Separate with a fork, and cook, stirring occasionally until crispy, transfer to a plate.
  • Repeat with the remaining beef.
  • Remove the beef, set aside and drain oil.
  • Up to this point, the beef can be prepared well in advance.
  • Add in 1-2 tablespoons new oil, and heat oil to very hot.
  • Add in carrots, green onions, ginger and garlic; stir fry over high heat for a couple of minutes.
  • Add in soy sauce, red or white wine, vinegar, sesame oil and crushed chilies (if using).
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Add in the beef; mix well to combine.
  • Serve with or over cooked rice.
  • Delicious!
